Relay Sets School Record with Top-16 Finish at NCAA Championships

(SHENANDOAH, Texas) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming 200-yard medley relay team set a new school record and earned Honorable Mention All-America on the first day of competition at the 2015 NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships.

The quad of senior Josh Lucheon (Knoxville, Tenn./Knoxville Catholic), freshman Matthew Chu (Warren, N.J./Saint Peter's Prep), sophomore Sivan Mehta (Scarsdale, N.Y./Scarsdale) and freshman Kevin Steinhouse (St. Louis, Mo./John Burroughs School) dove in the water and finished 13th overall in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:30.88. The were just a tad faster in the preliminaries resetting their own school record with a time of 1:30.64.

Steinhouse also competed in the 50-yard freestyle on Wednesday, finishing 48th in 21.29 seconds.

On Thursday, Mehta will compete in the 100-yard butterfly while the four will group together again for the 200-yard freestyle relay and 400-yard medley relay.
