Razanav's Win Highlights Tartans UAA Finish

(CLEVELAND, Ohio) – Freshman Anton Razanav (San Diego, Calif./Westview) won the 200-yard backstroke on Saturday during the final day of the University Athletic Association Championships held at Case Western Reserve University. The Tartans finished in fifth place as Emory University took the team title.

Razanav won the 200-yard backstroke with a season-best and NCAA provisional qualifying time of 1:51.53. Junior Daniel Glaser-Garbrick (Dayton, Ohio/Centreville) picked up the Tartans' next best finish which was second place in the 200-yard butterfly in a provisional time of 1:51.42. Junior Brandon Yee (Danville, Calif./Monte Vista) was fourth in the 200-yard butterfly in a provisional time of 1:53.00

Freshman Andrew Yee (Danville, Calif./Monte Vista) placed sixth in the 1,650-yard freestyle in 16:26.73 while sophomore Eddie Sears (Boca Raton, Fla./Spanish River) was fifth in the consolation final of the 100-yard freestyle in 47.21.

Sophomore Austin Bohn (Annville, Pa./Annville-Cleona) won the consolation final of the 200-yard breaststroke when he touched in 2:08.20 as freshman Cole Um (Federal Way, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) was fifith in the consolation final in a time of 2:11.64.

Senior divers Eli Fatsi (Midlothian, Va./Trinity Episcopal) and Mike Alexovich (Gibsonia, Pa./Hampton) finished sixth and seventh on the 1-meter board with 437.70 and 400.40 points, respectively.

Those that made an NCAA provisional mark throughout the year will now wait to hear if they made the draw for the championship meet which will be hosted in Indianapolis, Ind., from March 21-24.
