Bio

Benji Oxman joins the Carnegie Mellon Men's Basketball program as an assistant coach ahead of the 2026-2027 academic year. His responsibilities with the team include on-court instruction, recruiting, scouting, and player development.

Prior to Carnegie Mellon, Oxman served as an assistant coach in the NESCAC at Colby College for the 2025-26 season. In his time with the Mules, they earned a 16-9 overall record, marking the program's fifth-best season since 2000. Oxman coordinated the Colby offense, helping the team average 17.2 assists per game, which was top 25 in Division III. Oxman served as an assistant coach at Oglethorpe University before heading to Colby. While in this role, he helped the team achieve a 16-10 record and set a regular season scoring record (86.3 ppg). Prior to Oglethorpe, Oxman served two years as a graduate assistant for Belmont University’s men’s basketball team. During his time at Belmont, the team achieved a 41-23 record in their first two seasons as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference.

In his three seasons as a head coach for the 17u Atlanta Timberwolves AAU organization, Oxman led his teams to a 70-46 record and helped 25 of his players get recruited nationally. He also worked three seasons as a manager for the University of South Carolina’s men’s basketball team and gained experience as a scout with Relentless Hoops.

Oxman is a 2022 graduate from the University of South Carolina where he earned his bachelor’s degree in sport and entertainment management. In 2024, he earned his master’s in sport administration from Belmont University.
