Bio

Dr. Colleen McFarland joined the Carnegie Mellon University sports performance team as a sports medicine fellow with Dr. Anderson in 2025.

Born and raised in Pensacola, Florida, Colleen attended Florida State University for her undergraduate education, where she earned a degree in Exercise Physiology. She remained at FSU for medical school before heading south to complete her Emergency Medicine residency at Jackson Health/University of Miami. With strong family ties to Pittsburgh, she was excited for the opportunity to return to the area to complete my Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at UPMC.

Outside of work, she enjoys skiing, golfing, watching all sports, and exploring new restaurants with her wife. She also loves spending time with her dog, Winnie, and her cat, Mowgli.
