Jess Klein

Bio

Born and raised in the amazing state of Michigan, Jess Klein moved to Pittsburgh two years ago for a fresh start and hasn’t looked back. She came here from Eastern Michigan University where she served as the Program Coordinator for the Women’s Resource Center. Her passion for feminism, violence prevention, and social justice led Jess to her current position as the Coordinator of Gender Programs and Sexual Violence Prevention in the Office of Community Standards & Integrity. In this role, she educates the campus community on primary prevention of violence, rape culture, consent and makes the hard topics of sexual and domestic violence more digestible to learn about. Sometimes this work can take its toll, but she tries to maintain a healthy work-life balance by hanging out with her ridiculously adorable pit bull, Pita, playing open mics and shows around town, working on multiple house projects, visiting her partner in Chicago, and immersing herself in all that Pittsburgh has to offer. Jess received her B.S. in Criminology with a focus on corrections and her M.A. in Criminology from Eastern Michigan University.
