Divya Venkatarama - Women's Tennis

Senior Divya Venkatarama of the ninth-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team helped the Tartans go 1-1 over the weekend against two top ranked opponents. The Tartans win came against 11th-ranked Emory University, which was the first win for the Cardinal and Gray over Emory since the 2009 ITA National Team Women's Championship. In the win, Venkatarama earned match point at fifth singles with a 6-3, 7-5 scoreline after trailing 4-1 in the second set with the team score knotted at 3-all. The senior then claimed the Tartans lone team point against 10th-ranked Bowdoin College, as she won 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4) at the five spot of singles.
