Ika Kanumuri - Women's Tennis

Freshman Ika Kanumuri of the Carnegie Mellon women's tennis team competed at the ITA Cup over the weekend as she advanced to the semifinals of the national event. Kanumuri won her first round match by a 6-0, 6-2 score against sophomore Karina Elvestrom from Gustavus Adolphus and then topped the number two seed, sophomore Fiona Lee of MIT, in the quarterfinals by the scores of 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 to advance to the semifinals. Kanumuri faced sophomore Rebecca Kong of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the semifinals and fell 6-3, 7-6 (5).
