Donohue Garners UAA Honor

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Freshman Eliza Donohue (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) of the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week. Donohue played a huge part in the Tartans' 2-1 mark at the UAA first round robin held in Atlanta, Georgia hosted by Emory University this past weekend.
    
Donohue collected 18 total blocks in three matches, including a career-high seven in the team's UAA opener against Rochester, a 3-0 win. She also put down seven kills with no errors against Rochester and hit .636. In the Tartans' 3-1 win over Case, the freshman totaled six blocks and added eight kills. To close the weekend, Donohue recorded seven kills, five blocks and hit .235 in a 3-2 loss to No. 3 Emory.

The Tartans will next be on the road out of conference as they face Ithaca College at Ithaca on Friday, October 10 at 5:30 p.m.
