      <description>Carnegie Mellon University head tennis coach Andrew Girard and freshman Michael Rozenvasser (Haworth, N.J./Northern Valley Regional) were recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) when the 2017 Division III regional awards were announced last week. Girard was named the Wilson/ITA Atlantic South Coach of the Year for the women while Rozenvasser earned ITA Rookie of the Year for the men.</description>

The Tartans started the day with a 5-1 win over the University of Mary Washington, ranked 15th, and a 5-2 win over 14th-ranked Johns Hopkins University. This years championships is being held in Murfreesboro, Tenn. and is hosted by Sewanee. Carnegie Mellon is now 9-3 overall as the team head west for spring break.</description>
