Senior Rae Lasko (Diamond Bar, Calif. / Diamond Bar) and freshman Kyra Musmanno (West Windsor, N.J. / West Windsor-Plainsboro) were named NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes for finishing the year with a 3.5 GPA or better.</description>

Shortstop Megan Hu (Katy, Texas/Seven Lakes) and pitcher Scotty McGee (Huntington Beach, Calif./Huntington Beach) each earned a place on the second team after leading the Tartans to a 13-25 record in the inaugural season for the university.</description>

The Tartans are now 12-24 overall and 4-14 in the UAA while the Violets are 19-12 and 7-8.</description>

      <description>Freshman Piper Johnson (Riverside, Calif. / River Martin Luther King) hit the first home run in program history and it happened to be a walk-off shot to lead the Carnegie Mellon University softball team to a 6-4 game one victory against SUNY Potsdam on Thursday, March 14. The Tartans then knocked around 17 hits in a 19-4 second game victory against the Bears. The Tartans move to 3-5 for the season while Potsdam dropped to 3-7.</description>

      <description>The Carnegie Mellon University softball team dropped a pair of games on Tuesday, March 12 in Kissimmee, Florida. The first game favored Marietta College, 6-0, before Meredith College was able to finish off a 3-1 win against the Tartans who are now 1-5 for the year.</description>

      <description>Behind the pitching of freshman Scotty McGee (Huntington Beach, Calif. / Huntington Beach High School), the Carnegie Mellon University softball team won the program&#x2019;s first game in school history by a 4-1 score against Arcadia University on Monday, March 11. The Tartans split action for the day, falling 6-5 to Wisconsin Lutheran University in the second game of the day, to move to 1-3 for the year.</description>

      <description>The Carnegie Mellon University softball team opened its inaugural season in Winter Haven, Florida, with two games on Sunday, March 10 against Beloit College and Wheaton (Mass.) College. The first game, which was played under protest by the Tartans, finished with Beloit winning, 6-2. After a short break, the Tartans then faced the Lyons, falling 5-4.</description>
