  • Pomerantz Awarded Prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

    Carnegie Mellon University men’s golfer Alexander Pomerantz has been selected to receive an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship for excelling academically and athletically while showing leadership and commitment to the community. Pomerantz is one of 29 spring sport male athletes across all three NCAA divisions to earn the scholarship.
  • Men’s Golf Receives Academic Accolades for 2016-17 Season

    The 2016-17 Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team was one of 29 NCAA Division III institutions in receiving the All-Academic Team award from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The Tartans finished the year with a cumulative grade point average of 3.29.
  • Qian Earns Third PING All-America Honor

    For the third straight season, senior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team has been recognized as a NCAA Division III PING All-America by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). This year, Qian lands a spot on the third team after being named honorable mention the previous two seasons.
  • Rodgers Named Golf Pride Grips/GCAA Mid-Atlantic Coach of the Year

    Following one of the most successful seasons in program history, Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf coach Dan Rodgers was selected as the Golf Pride Grips/Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Division III Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year.
  • Qian Pulls in CoSIDA Academic All-America Honor

    Senior men’s golfer George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) was selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as a 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-American on the Men’s At-Large Team. The team honors athletes from eight different sports with Qian being one of four golfers to earn the award. His placement on the second team is the first of his career.
  • Qian, Mohan and Del Bosque Receive GCAA Honors, Rodgers Named Finalist for National Coach of the Year

    The Carnegie Mellon University golf team had three members honored by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) at its annual awards dinner on Tuesday, May 16 in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida. In addition, first-year head coach Dan Rodgers was named as one of five NCAA Division III finalists for the Dave Williams Award presented by Golf Pride Grips.
  • Qian Places 30th at NCAA Championships

    Senior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team competed in the final round of the 2017 NCAA Division III Championships on Friday, May 19. Qian placed tied for 30th in a field of 215 golfers at the four-round event held at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
  • Qian Tied for 17th Heading into Final Round of the NCAA Championships

    Senior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team competed in the third round of the 2017 NCAA Division III Championships on Thursday, May 17. Qian continued play in the championships after qualifying as one of six individuals not on the 18 top teams that made the cut following two rounds of play.
  • Men’s Golf Places 31st at NCAA Championships, Qian Makes Cut

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team competed in the second round of the 2017 NCAA Division III Championships on Wednesday, May 17 and carded a 320. The Tartans played the par-72, 6,888-yard Las Colinas Course at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida on Wednesday and finished 31st with a 647 (327-320).
  • Men’s Golf Opens Play at the NCAA Championships

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team opened play in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Division III Championships on Tuesday, May 16. The Tartans fired a team score of 327 on the par-72, 6,844-yard El Campeón Course at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. Huntingdon College leads the championships after the opening round of play with a five-over-par 293.
  • Qian One of Four to Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Honors

    Four Carnegie Mellon University athletes were recognized by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District Men’s and Women’s At-Large Teams. Senior men’s golfer George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) earns the award for the third time while senior men’s tennis player Kenny Zheng (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central), senior women’s tennis player Nicholle Torres (Weston, Fla./Great Neck South) and junior women’s swimmer Kim Hochstedler (Mishawaka, Ind./Penn) receive the honor for the first time.
  • Mohan Named ECAC Division III Men’s Golfer of the Month for April

    Junior Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team was named Corvias Division III Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Men’s Golfer of the Month for April.
  • Carnegie Mellon Men’s Golf Receives NCAA Bid, Second in School History

    The Carnegie Mellon University golf team has been selected to compete in the 2017 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships. The championships will be held May 16-19, at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida on the El Campeón Course and Las Colinas Course. Oglethorpe University will be hosting the four-day event. The appearance by the Tartans at the championships marks the program’s second trip, as the 2009 team finished 22nd at the national event.
  • Qian and Mohan Named to the All-UAA Squad

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team had two athletes honored by the University Athletic Association’s (UAA) coaches on the All-UAA team when the awards were announced May 4. Senior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) and junior Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) were named to the first team. The two played a factor in helping the 20th-ranked Tartans to their highest national ranking.
  • Qian Named Semifinalist For Jack Nicklaus Award

    Senior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team has been named by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) as a semifinalist for the NCAA Division III Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award presented by Barbasol. The Nicklaus Award recognizes the top players at the Division I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA levels.
  • Men’s Golf Wins Carnegie Mellon Shootout

    In the closing round of the 2017 Carnegie Mellon Spring Shootout, the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team carded a 294 to end the event with a 595 (301-294) on Sunday, April 9 to win the nine-team event. The two-day, 36-hole event was held at The Links at Spring Church in Apollo, Pennsylvania. The win marks the Tartans third straight on the 6,516-yard, par-70 course at the annual Shootout.
  • Men’s Golf Sits First Following Opening Round of Carnegie Mellon Shootout

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team hosted the first day of the Carnegie Mellon Spring Shootout Saturday, April 8 at The Links at Spring Church in Apollo, Pennsylvania. The Tartans are currently in first after play on Saturday, as they fired a team score of 301 on the 6,516-yard, par-70 course.
  • Qian Repeats as ECAC Division III Men’s Golfer of the Month for March

    For the third consecutive year, senior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team was named Corvias Division III Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Men’s Golfer of the Month for March following his play during the Tartans’ spring trip south.

    Senior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Golf Athlete of the Week following his performance last week where he averaged 71.0 in three rounds including two rounds below par.
  • Tartans Place Sixth at The Hershey Cup

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed in the final round of The Hershey Cup on Monday, April 3 and finished with a 36-hole total of 621 (310-311) to place sixth out of 15 teams. The two-day event hosted by the University of Rochester was played on the par-71, East Course at Hershey Country Club.

    Junior Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team currently is tied for the individual lead at the 15-team Hershey Cup with a one-over par 72 following the first round of play on Sunday, April 2. The Tartans as a team are tied for sixth after carding a 310 on the par-71, East Course at Hershey Country Club. The two-day, 36-hole event finds Allegheny College leading with a 300.
  • Men’s Golf Wins Second Straight Annual Spring Invitational

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team placed first at its annual spring invitational for the second consecutive season on Thursday, March 30 after carding a 304. The 18-hole event was held at the par 70 Longue Vue Club in Verona, Pennsylvania. Top individual medalist honors went to Tartan junior Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) who fired a four-over par 74. The win marked Mohan’s first collegiate individual medalist honor.
  • Qian Cards 36-Hole School Record; Men’s Golf Finishes Third at Wynlakes Intercollegiate

    (MONTGOMERY, Ala.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team carded a final round of 298 at the Wynlakes Intercollegiate in Montgomery, Alabama on Tuesday, March 28, and finished third with a 36-hole score of 589 (291-298). The field of 13 teams, including five teams ranked in the top seven nationally, was won by the host Huntingdon College, ranked first nationally, with a score of 567 (280-287). The University of Texas at Tyler, who is ranked second nationally, placed second with a score of 578 (296-282). The 36-hole event was played at the par 72, 6,979-yard Wynlakes Golf & Country Club.
  • Qian Ties School Record with a 67 to Lead Men’s Golf at Opening Round of Wynlakes Intercollegiate

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed in the first round of the Wynlakes Intercollegiate in Montgomery, Alabama on Monday, March 27, and carded a team score of 291. The Tartans are currently in third-place heading into play on Tuesday in a field of 15 teams, including five teams ranked in the top seven nationally. The 36-hole event is being played at the par 72, 6,979-yard Wynlakes Golf & Country Club.
  • Men’s Golf Concludes Play at Jekyll Island Collegiate

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team finished tied for 14th out of 29 teams at the 18th Annual Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational Sunday, March 19. The three-day, 54-hole event was held at the 6,711-yard, par-72 Pine Lakes Course on Jekyll Island and of the 29 teams, 15 are ranked in the top 25 of Division III including three of the top five. The Tartans finished with a 54-hole team score of 912 after carding a 310 Sunday afternoon.
  • Men’s Golf Improves 10 Strokes in Second Round of Jekyll Island Collegiate

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team continued play at the second day of the 2017 Jekyll Island Collegiate Saturday, March 18. Three Tartans finished the suspended play form the first round before hitting the links for round two. At the conclusion of 36 holes, the Tartans are currently tied for 13th with a two-round total of 602 (306-296). The three-day event is being played on the 6,711-yard, par-72 Pine Lakes Course on Jekyll Island and the field is comprised of 29 teams which has 15 of the nation's top 25 teams in Division III including three of the top five.
  • Men’s Golf Competes in Opening Round of Jekyll Island Collegiate

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed in the first round of the 18th Annual Jekyll Collegiate Invitational played on Friday, March 17. A frost delay pushed tee times back two hours which did not allow for the completion of the round on Friday. The field is comprised of 29 teams which has 15 of the nation's top 25 teams in Division III including three of the top five. The three-day, 54-hole event is being held on the 6,700-yard, par-72 Pine Lakes Course on Jekyll Island.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed at the final day of the 54-hole TaylorMade-adidas Intercollegiate, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on Tuesday, March 14. The two-day event was held on the Cotton Dike Course at the Dataw Island Club in Beaufort, S.C. with 36 holes being played on Monday.

The two-day, 36-hole championships were played at Hammock Beach Resort on the 6,972-yard, par-72 Conservatory Course in Palm Coast, Florida.
