  • Qian Named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar

    Junior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team has been named a Division III Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). This marks the fourth straight year that Carnegie Mellon has had a golfer named a scholar, as Qian becomes the 19th Tartan to receive the honor.
  • Qian Repeats as PING Honorable Mention All-America

    For the second straight season, junior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team has been recognized on the NCAA Division III PING All-America honorable mention team by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Qian becomes the program’s first two-time All-American honoree.
  • Qian Repeats on CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

    Carnegie Mellon University junior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy), a member of the men’s golf team, was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team. CoSIDA recognizes outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments by honoring deserving athletes with All-Academic recognition. To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must be a starter or significant reserve and maintain a GPA of 3.3 or better.
  • Three Men’s Golfers Named PING Mid-Atlantic All-Region

    Three Carnegie Mellon University men’s golfers have been recognized for their play on the course his past season by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Juniors George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) and Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./Sutherland) along with sophomore Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) were named to the 2016 PING Mid-Atlantic Region team. The honor comes days after all three were named to the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) team.
  • Qian Leads Trio of Tartans on All-UAA Squad

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team had three athletes honored by the University Athletic Association’s (UAA) coaches on the All-UAA team when the team was announced May 9. Heading the list was junior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) who was a first-team honoree. Junior Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./Sutherland) found a spot on the second team and sophomore Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) garnered honorable mention status.
  • Men’s Golf Finishes Second at Kravetz Invitational

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team finished the Kravetz Invitational, hosted by the University of Rochester, on Saturday, April 16 in second place behind Franklin & Marshall College, after shooting a two-day total of 625. The Tartans shot 305 at the par-72 Oak Hill Country Club after carding a 320 on Friday at the par-71 Irondequoit Country Club.
  • Tartans are Tied for Third After Day One of Kravetz Invitational

    After the first day of the Fred Kravetz Invitational hosted by the University of Rochester, the Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team is tied for third after 18-holes. The Cardinal and Gray fired a team score of 320, trailing Franklin & Marshall College by four strokes and Roberts Wesleyan College by three. Play began for the 36-hole tournament Friday at the par-72 Irondequoit Country Club with Saturday's round being played at the par-71 Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York.
  • Qian Named UAA Men’s Golfer of the Week

    Junior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Golf Athlete of the Week following his performance in helping the Tartans win their third straight tournament. The Tartans won the weather shortened Edward Jones Shootout with a school record team round of 282.
  • Men’s Golf Sets School Record and Wins Edward Jones Shootout

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team hosted the its annual Edward Jones Shootout Sunday, April 10 at The Links @ Spring Church in Apollo, Pennsylvania. The Tartans entered two teams into the Shootout with the 'B' squad appearing as individuals on the official results. The Tartans won the event after firing a school record round of 282 on the par-70 course while the ‘B’ team carded a 296 and finished in fifth-place.
  • Opening Round of Edward Jones Shootout Postponed
    April 09, 2016
    The opening round of the men’s golf Edward Jones Shootout Saturday, April 9, hosted by Carnegie Mellon University has been postponed due to inclement temperatures and weather in the area. The 36-hole event is being played at The Links @ Spring Church in Apollo, Pennsylvania. Play is scheduled to resume Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m.
  • Qian Named ECAC Division III Men’s Golfer of the Month

    For the second consecutive year, junior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team was named Division III Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Men’s Golfer of the Month for March following his play during the Tartans’ spring trip south.
  • Men’s Golf Wins Annual Spring Invitational

    (VERONA, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team hosted its annual spring invitational on Wednesday, April 6 and carded a 304 to place first as a team. The 18-hole event was held at the Longue Vue Club. Top individual medalist honors went to Tartan junior George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy).

    Junior Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Golf Athlete of the Week following his performance in helping the Tartans win the 15-team Hershey Cup on Sunday and Monday, April 3-4.
  • Tartans Bring Home Hershey Cup, Jennette Wins Individual Medalist

    For the second consecutive season, a Carnegie Mellon University men’s golfer was crowned the top individual medalist at the 15-team Hershey Cup. Junior Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) carded a round of 75 during the final round on Monday to finish the 36-hole tournament with a five-over par 147 (72-75) to win the event. The two-day tournament was held on the par-71 East Course at Hershey Country Club where the Tartans finished with a team score of 624 (309-315) to finish first.
  • Men’s Golf Leads Field Following First Round of Hershey Cup

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team currently leads the field at the 15-team Hershey Cup following the first round of play. On Sunday, the Tartans fired a team score of 309 on the par-71, East Course at Hershey Country Club. The two-day, 36-hole event is being hosted by the University of Rochester.
  • Men’s Golf Sets School Record at Jekyll Island Collegiate

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team finished play at the 17th Annual Jekyll Island Collegiate Sunday, March 20. The Tartans ended the 54-hole tournament tied for 16th after carding a school-record score of 888 (299-293-296) over the three rounds. The field was comprised of 30 teams which had 13 of the nation's top 25 teams in Division III and included five of the top seven. The three-day event was held on the 6,700-yard, par-72 Pine Lakes Course on Jekyll Island.
  • Men’s Golf Cards Season-Best Round at Second Day of Jekyll Island Collegiate

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team continued play at the second day of the 2016 Jekyll Island Collegiate Saturday, March 19. The Tartans are currently tied for 18th after 36-holes of play with a two-round total of 592 (299-293). The three-day event is being played on the 6,700-yard, par-72 Pine Lakes Course on Jekyll Island. On Saturday, the Tartans shot a five-over par 293 as a team which is their best round of the season.
  • Qian Cards Two-Under Par in Opening Round of Jekyll Island Collegiate

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team currently is in a tie for 19th-place following the first round of the 17th Annual Jekyll Collegiate Invitational played on Friday, March 18. The Tartans tied a season-best team score in the opening round with a 299. The field is comprised of 30 teams which has 13 of the nation's top 25 teams in Division III including five of the top seven. The three-day, 54-hole event is being held on the 6,700-yard, par-72 Pine Lakes Course on Jekyll Island.
  • Men’s Golf Places Third at UAA Match Play Championships

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team competed in the third-place match of the University Athletics Association (UAA) Match Play Championships on Sunday, March 13. The two-day event was held at Red Tail Country Club in Sorrento, Florida on the par-72, 6,768-yard course. The Tartans faced New York University in the third-place match and defeated the Violets 4-2.
  • Men’s Golf Topped by Emory in Round One of Match Play at UAA Championships

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team competed at the University Athletics Association (UAA) Championships on Saturday, March 12 which is being held at Red Tail Country Club in Sorrento, Florida. This year’s championships are being played as a match play format and the Tartans dropped a 4-1 decision to Emory University on Saturday. Red Tail Country Club is a par-72 course and 6,768 yards.
  • Men’s Golf Places Fifth at TaylorMade-adidas Intercollegiate

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed at the final day of the TaylorMade-adidas Intercollegiate, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on Monday, March 7. The two-day event is being held on the Cotton Dike Course at the Dataw Island Club in Beaufort, S.C. with 36 holes being played on Monday.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed at the first day of the TaylorMade-adidas Intercollegiate, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on Monday, March 7. The two-day, 54-hole event is being held on the Cotton Dike Course at the Dataw Island Club in Beaufort, S.C. with 36 holes being played on Monday.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s golf team placed first at its annual fall invitational Thursday, October 15 at the Longue Vue Club as the team carded a 307. Top individual medalist honors went to Tartan junior Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./Sutherland).

  • Tartans Finish Sixth at Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team improved nine strokes on Sunday afternoon at the final round of the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic to finish with a team score of 607 (308-299). The Tartans 607 placed them sixth of 15 teams that competed at the classic. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being played at the par-72 The Bridges Golf Club
  • Tartans Compete at Opening Round of Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed at the opening round of the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic in cold and wet conditions on Saturday, October 3. The Tartans overcame the weather to card a team score of 308 and currently are in fifth-place of the 15-team classic. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being played at the par-72 The Bridges Golf Club
  • Klodowski Leads Tartans to Third-Place Showing at Hal Hansen Invitational

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team finished third at the Hal Hansen Invitational after a two-day, 36-hole tournament against a field of Division II teams and one NAIA school. On Monday, the Tartans fired a 310 to total 616 for the weekend on the par-72 course hosted by Clarion University at the Treasure Lake Resort in Dubois, Pennsylvania.
  • Tartans in Third After First Round of Hal Hansen

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed at the Hal Hansen Invitational Sunday afternoon and currently are in third-place following the first 18 holes of play. On Sunday, the Tartans fired a 306 leaving them six strokes behind West Liberty and Mercyhurst. The 36-hole event is being hosted by Clarion University at the Treasure Lake Resort in Dubois, Pennsylvania.
  • Jennette Leads Men’s Golf at Flower City Preview
    September 13, 2015
    The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed at the final day of the Flower City Preview on Sunday, September 13 and fired a 310 to finish with a two-day total of 630. The preview was hosted by St. John Fisher at the par-72 Midvale Country Club and featured five of the nation's top 10 programs. The 54-hole event was shortened to 36 holes due to inclement weather over the weekend in the Rochester area.
