      <title>Men&#x2019;s Basketball Earns Team Academic Honors by NABC for Eighth Straight Season; Eight Individuals Honored</title>

      <description>The Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team was recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) when the committee on academics announced the annual Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2019-20. In the eighth year of the program, the Tartans are one of 13 institutions from Division I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA, that have been recognized each of the eight years.</description>

      <title>Three Tartans Named to the All-UAA Men&#x2019;s Basketball Team</title>

      <description>Senior Trent Suddeth (Winter Park, Fla./Trinity Prep), senior Zach Howarth (Freehold, N.J./St. John Vianney) and senior Colin McNeil (Ringoes, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team were named to the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Basketball Team when the Association announced its postseason accolades on Thursday. Suddeth found a spot on the second team while Howarth and McNeil were named honorable mention. This marks Howarth&#x2019;s third straight All-UAA honor, as he appeared on the second team the previous two seasons.</description>

      <description>It was a memorable fall for the Carnegie Mellon Athletics Program, as five of six fall teams advanced to postseason play, the basketball and swimming and diving teams got off to great starts, and the women&#x2019;s golf team earned a number one national ranking. Four teams competed in the NCAA postseason, including the women&#x2019;s soccer team&#x2019;s run to the national semifinals, and the Tartans once again finished the fall 16th in the Learfield Directors&#x2019; Cup Standings. On top of the competitive success, 104 student-athletes achieved 4.0 grade-point averages (GPA) and more than 60 percent of the student-athletes earned a 3.50 GPA or better.</description>

Howarth now has 1,011 career points. The win moves the Tartans overall mark to 6-2 while W&amp;J is now 7-4.</description>
