      <description>The Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team was recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) when the committee on academics announced the annual Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2018-19. In the seventh year of the program, the Tartans are one of 12 institutions from Division I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA that have been recognized each of the seven years.</description>

Wingen will receive the Division III Outstanding Service Award on Friday, April 5, from the National Association of Basketball Coaches at the Division III coaches meeting during the annual NABC Convention and NCAA Division I Men&#x2019;s Final Four in Minneapolis.</description>

      <description>Senior Seth Henry (Fulton, Md./Reservoir) and junior Zach Howarth (Freehold, N.J./St. John Vianney) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team were named to the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Basketball Team when the Association announced its postseason accolades on Thursday. Henry was named to the first team while Howarth found a spot on the second team. This marks Howarth&#x2019;s second All-UAA honor, as he also appeared on the second team a year ago.</description>

The Spartans forced overtime with a last second three-pointer but couldn&#x2019;t stop the Tartans in OT as the Cardinal and Gray finish the year at 11-14 overall and 6-8 in the University Athletic Association (UAA).</description>

      <description>The Carnegie Mellon University men&#x2019;s basketball team opened 2019 hosting the Saints of Marymount University on Wednesday afternoon and won a 90-84 overtime thriller in Skibo Gymnasium. Sophomore Daniel Weiss&#x2019; (Marlboro, N.J.) tip-in with under a second to play in regulation sent the contest into overtime where the Tartans outscored the Saints 11-5 to improve to 5-6 at the conclusion of its non-conference schedule. Marymount is now 7-6.</description>
