  • #13 Tartans Extend Win Streak to Twelve, Win at Franciscan 3-0

    The 13th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's volleyball team traveled to Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, for a non-conference match on Tuesday, September 19. The Tartans extended their win streak to 12 with a 3-0 victory after set scores of 25-19, 25-17, and 25-22.
  • #16 Tartans Continue Winning Ways Versus Susquehanna and Stevenson

    The 16th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team finished the Susquehanna University Hampton Inn River Hawk Classic with a 3-0 victory against the hosts and a 3-0 win against Stevenson University. The Tartans move to 11-0 on the season.

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's volleyball team moved up to No. 16 in the rankings this week and topped The College at Brockport 3-0 on Friday, September 15 at the Susquehanna University Hampton Inn River Hawk Classic. The Tartans move to 9-0 on the year after set wins of 27-25, 25-15, and 25-19.

  • Four Named Athlete of the Week by ECAC

    Four Carnegie Mellon University athletes were honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) when the organization announced its weekly award winners this week. Earning the first award of the season are men’s soccer junior Alec Lam (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional), women’s soccer freshman Carolyn Botz (St. Louis, Mo./Micds), volleyball sophomore Kayla Yew (San Francisco, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral), and senior football player Sam Benger (Hingham, Mass/Hingham).
  • #24 Tartans Remain Unbeaten with Two More Wins at Marcia French Invitational

    The 24th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team remained unbeaten for the season when it topped North Carolina Wesleyan College and Hiram College on the second day of the Marcia French Invitational hosted by Case Western Reserve University. Senior Heather Holton (Haslett, Mich.) was named to the All-Tournament team following a weekend in which she tallied 27 kills.

    The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team, ranked 24th nationally, opened play at the 19th Annual Marcia French Memorial Invitational Friday, September 8 and defeating John Carroll University to remain unbeaten at 6-0 on the season. The Tartan won 3-0 by the scores of 25-17, 25-15, 25-22.

    The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team, ranked 24th nationally, hosted the Bearcats of Saint Vincent College on Wednesday, September 6 and swept the match in three sets by the scores of 25-12, 25-5, 25-13. The win improves the Tartans record to 5-0 while the Bearcats move to 3-2.
  • Volleyball Defeats #22 Ohio Northern and Ohio Wesleyan to Remain Perfect

    The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team remained unbeaten on the young season with a pair of wins on Saturday at the Ohio Northern University Invitational. The Tartans started the day with a 3-2 win over the 22nd-ranked Polar Bears of Ohio Northern before topping Ohio Wesleyan 3-0 in the nightcap to move to 4-0 on the season.
  • Head Coach Kim Kelly Wins 500th as Volleyball Opens Season With a Pair of Victories

    Head Coach Kim Kelly won her 500th career match and 250th at Carnegie Mellon University, as the Tartans opened the 2017 volleyball season at the Ohio Northern University Invitational on Friday, September 1. The Tartans finished play on Friday with two 3-0 victories, the first over Defiance College and the second over Thomas More College. Kelly currently ranks 28th on the Division III active win list with 501.
