  • Wolfinger, Female Student-Athletes Proud to be Engineers

    First-year student-athlete Rebecca Wolfinger is one of 41 female athletes studying engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. A growing field amongst the women, as 44% are freshmen, engineering offers a hands-on working environment unlike any other.
  • Celentano Named AVCA All-Region

    Sophomore right side Ali Celentano (Mission Viejo, Calif./JSerra Catholic) of the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team was named to the All-Mid-Atlantic Region team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Celentano receives the honor days after being named to the All-University Athletic Association squad.
  • Celentano and Parsa Named All-UAA

    Sophomore right side Ali Celentano (Mission Viejo, Calif./JSerra Catholic) and junior outside hitter Senna Parsa (Bellevue, Wash./Newport) of the Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team were named to the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) team. Celentano earned second team honors while Parsa was named honorable mention. This marks the 15th straight season that the Tartans have had at least two members named to the All-UAA team.
  • Tartans End Season at UAA Championship Tournament

    The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team finished fifth at the University Athletic Association Volleyball Championship on Saturday, November 3, at Emory University in Atlanta Ga. The Tartans were led by sophomore Ali Celentano’s (Mission Viejo, Calif./JSerra Catholic) career weekend as they opened the tournament against Case Western Reserve University on Friday before playing the University of Rochester Saturday morning.
  • Tartans Strong in Regular Season Finale

    The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team nearly finished the regular season with two wins but were a few points short, splitting competition at the University of Mount Union, Saturday afternoon. The Tartans are now 14-16 overall heading into next week's University Athletic Association Championship.
  • Tartans Finish 1-1 at Frostburg Tri Match

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's volleyball team traveled to Frostburg, Maryland for two matches hosted by Frostburg State University on Saturday, October 20 and came home after a 1-1 day. The Tartans defeated host Frostburg 3-0 but fell to Salisbury University 3-0 in their first match.
  • Tartans End UAA Round Robin With Victory over Brandeis

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's volleyball team hosted the final day of the university Athletic Association (UAA) Round Robin #2 on Sunday, October 14. After the Tartans dropped a 3-0 decision to #1 Washington University they rebounded with a 3-1 win over Brandeis University. Carnegie Mellon is now 12-14 overall and 2-5 in UAA play.
  • Tartans Split a Pair of Matches at Day One of UAA Round Robin #2

    The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team competed at the first day of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Round Robin #2 and split a pair of matches. The tow-day round robin is being hosted by the Tartans. Carnegie Mellon is now 11-13 overall and 1-4 in UAA play.
  • Volleyball Team Set to Dig Pink at UAA Round Robin

    The Carnegie Mellon women’s volleyball team will dig pink this weekend, as it prepares to host the UAA Volleyball Round Robin in Pittsburgh. The Tartans have dedicated the weekend to raising funds for breast cancer research.
  • Tartans Tested by Nations Best at UAA Round Robin

    The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team opened University Athletic Association (UAA) play on Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30 on the road at the University of Chicago. Against two ranked opponents, the Tartans dropped three contests to fall to 10-12 overall and 0-3 in the UAA.
  • UAA Announces All-Association 25-Year Volleyball Honorees

    In honor of its silver anniversary, the University Athletic Association has announced its All-Association 25-Year Volleyball Team. Forty-five student-athletes earned the honor, including two from Carnegie Mellon University.
  • Tartans Down Waynesburg
    September 26, 2012
    The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team hosted Waynesburg University Wednesday, September 26 in its final dual match of the season, and came away with a 3-1 victory winning by the scores of 22-25, 25-16, 25-16 and 25-10. The win moves the Tartans record to 10-9 while the Yellow Jackets are now 5-9.
  • Tartans Split Weekend Action at Juniata
    September 22, 2012
    The Carnegie Mellon University women's volleyball team split four matches at the Juniata College Invitational on Friday, September 21 and Saturday, September 22. On Friday the Tartans fell to #23 Salisbury University 3-0 before defeating Franklin & Marshall College 3-0. The team wrapped up action on Saturday with a 3-0 win over FDU-Florham and a 3-1 defeat to #15 Juniata.
  • Celentano Receives ECAC Honors

    Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Ali Celentano (Mission Viejo, Calif./JSerra Catholic) was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Volleyball Athlete of the Week for her performance in leading the Tartans to a 4-1 mark last week to even their record at 7-7.
  • Tartans Even Overall Mark With Three Wins at Home Invitational

    The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team hosted its annual invite Friday and Saturday, September 14-15. The Tartans posted a mark of 3-1 improving their overall record to 7-7. The Cardinal and Gray picked up victories over Scranton, Pitt Greensburg and Elmira while dropping a match to Johns Hopkins.

    The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team hosted St. Vincent College Tuesday, September 11, and won 3-0 by the scores of 28-26, 24-14 and 25-18. The Tartans improve to 4-6 as the Bearcats are now 4-5.
  • Tartans Win Three at Hiram Invitational

    The Carnegie Mellon University volleyball team competed at the Hiram College Invitational Friday and Saturday, September 7-8. The Tartans won three of four over the weekend moving their overall record to 3-6.
  • Tartans Have Strong Showing in Setback at Marietta

    The Carnegie Mellon University women’s volleyball team traveled to Marietta, Ohio Wednesday, September 5 and came away with a 3-2 setback to the Pioneers. The Tartans are now 0-5 on the season while Marietta remains undefeated at 5-0. In a close tight match, the Tartans won the first two games by the score of 26-24 before falling 25-22, 27-25 and 16-14.
  • Tartans Open Season at Ohio Northern
    August 31, 2012
    Carnegie Mellon University's volleyball team opened its season at the Ohio Northern University Tournament Friday and Saturday, August 31 and September 1. The Tartans dropped matches to the host Ohio Northern, Wooster, Heidelberg and Trine.
