  • Carnegie Mellon Outdoor Track and Field Garners 17 USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s and women’s track and field teams had 17 Mideast All-Region honors awarded to its athletes by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2019 outdoor track and field season. Thirteen represent the men while four represent the women with two men receiving multiple honors.
  • Karabin, Lindsey Named CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District

    Juniors Michelle Karabin (Ruffs Dale, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) and Emmalyn Lindsey (Eugene, Ore./South Eugene) of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field team have been honored by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as Google Cloud Women’s Cross Country/Track and Field Academic All-District selections. Karabin receives her first award while Lindsey is a repeat selection and also a 2018 third-team CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-America selection.

  • Four Tartans to Compete at NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

    Four Carnegie Mellon University men’s and women’s track and field athletes have qualified for the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships to be hosted at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio, May 23-25. The University of Mount Union and Greater Cleveland Sports Commission are co-hosts for the event.

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team finished fifth at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championships which concluded Sunday after two days of action at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team set two school records on the first day of competition of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Emory University. After seven scored events, the Tartans are sixth with 17 points.
  • Carnegie Mellon’s Aldrich Named to the USA Coaching Staff for 2019 NACAC U23 Championships

    Gary Aldrich, head coach of the Carnegie Mellon University track and field teams, has been named to the U.S.A. coaching staff as the Throws Coach for the 2019 NACAC (North American, Central American, and Caribbean Athletic Association) Under 23 Championships this summer. The event will take place in Queretaro, Mexico, from July 5-7. This marks Aldrich's sixth coaching stint on the international stage.

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team traveled to Westminster College to compete at the Westminster Invitational on Saturday. The Tartans competed against both Division II and Division III teams at the invite.

    The Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field team competed in the Dave Labor Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock University on Saturday, April 6. The Tartans had numerous top performances against a field of Division II and III athletes.
  • Bhanja Sets School Record in 200 Meter Dash

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team won its annual Carnegie Mellon Quad on Saturday. The Tartans scored 232 points, defeating second place Westminster College who finished with 143.50 points. The women turned in 13 first-place finishes and swept four events as a team.

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team hosted its annual Mini Invitational on Saturday, March 23. The Tartans placed second in the event after scoring 206 points with John Carrol University taking first with 242 points.

    Senior Rose Ciriello (Madison, N.J. / Madison) of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s outdoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for field events following her performance at the Washington and Lee Track and Field Carnival over the weekend.
  • Cornwall Breaks School Record at Outdoor Season Opener

    The Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field team opened the outdoor season at Foster Stadium on Friday and Saturday in Lexington, Virginia at the Washington and Lee Track and Field Carnival hosted by Washington and Lee University. The women finished with three top performances and numerous personal records.

The women placed sixth in the conference championships ahead of New York University.

  • Allen Records PR in High Jump as Women’s Track and Field Compete at Ohio State and Mount Union

    The Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field team competed both at the Ohio State University Indoor Collegiate Meet in Columbus, Ohio and the Mount Union Raider Tune-Up in Alliance, Ohio. The Tartans competed against competitive fields at both meets and many scored college and season best performances.
  • Tartans Top the Field at Noke Elite Meet

    The Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field team placed first with 173 points at the Noke Elite Meet hosted by Roanoke College this Saturday, February 9. The Tartans finished in front of second-place Washington and Lee University and third-place Denison University. This year marked the team’s first appearance at the Noke Elite Meet.

    The Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field team competed in the Denison University Bob Shannon Invitational this Saturday, February 2. The Tartans placed second overall with 97 points, finishing just 9.5 points behind Ohio Wesleyan University.
  • Tartan Women Win the Battle for the Obelisk for the Second Time in Meet History

    The Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field team won the Battle for the Obelisk against Case Western Reserve University in both women’s and combined scoring for the second time in meet history. With a combined total of 157 points the men and women brought home the obelisk for the third consecutive season. The dual meet competition resulted in 11 first-place finishes by the Tartan women.

  • Michelle Karabin: An All-American Teammate

    Michelle Karabin is the true embodiment of a track and field star. She is the first female track and field athlete since 2012 in Carnegie Mellon history to reach All-American status. In addition to her contributions as a vaulter, Michelle is passionate about the success of her entire team.
