  • Aldrich Set to Lead USA Throwers at 2015 Pan Am Games
    July 17, 2015
    The 2015 Pan American Games started July 10 and ten days later it’s time for the track and field participants and coaches to depart for Toronto to prepare for their events which begin July 20. Carnegie Mellon University Head Track and Field Coach Gary Aldrich will represent the United States Track and Field team as the assistant throws coach at the games.
  • Tartans Rack Up USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Award

    The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the men's 2015 Division III All-Academic Track & Field Teams and Carnegie Mellon University was included on the list. A total of 170 institutions earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.1 or better.
  • Carnegie Mellon Lands Three Cross Country and Track & Field Athletes on Capital One Academic All-America Squad

    After finding a spot on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team for men's and women’s cross country and track and field less than a month ago, three Carnegie Mellon University senior athletes were selected to the Capital One Academic All-America Third Team for the 2014-15 season; George Degen (Madison, Wis./West) and Thomas Vandenberg (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) on the men’s side are joined by Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) on the women’s team.
  • Three Cross Country and Track & Field Athletes Named Capital One Academic All-District

    Carnegie Mellon University had three senior athletes named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team for men's and women’s cross country and track and field for the 2014-15 season; George Degen (Madison, Wis./West) and Thomas Vandenberg (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) on the men’s side are joined by Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) on the women’s team. CoSIDA recognizes outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments by honoring deserving athletes with All-Academic recognition with the official sponsor of Capital One.
  • Kiekhaefer Ends Collegiate Career at NCAA Championships

    Senior Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed in the finals of the 1,500-meter run at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Division III Track and Field Championships on Saturday afternoon. The championships were held at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.
  • Two Carnegie Mellon University Student-Athletes Receive Fulbright U.S. Grants

    Carnegie Mellon University women’s cross country and track and field seniors Sara Kelly (Madison, Wis./West) and Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif.) have been awarded prestigious Fulbright U.S. Grants. The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides an unparalleled opportunity to teach, study and conduct research in 155 countries worldwide.
  • Kiekhaefer to Run in Finals of 1,500m at NCAA Championships

    Senior Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team will have a chance to end her career as an All-American at the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Kiekhaefer qualifed for the finals in the 1,500-meter run on Thursday, May 21.
  • Three to Represent Carnegie Mellon at NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

    Carnegie Mellon University will once again be represented on the national stage as three track and field athletes have earned the right to compete at the 2015 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships. This year’s championships will be May 21-23 at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.

    For the second straight meet, senior Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team set a new school record in the 1,500-meter run at the North Central College Gregory Final Qualifier Friday, May 15.
  • Aldrich Named to the USA Coaching Staff for Pan American Games

    Head Coach Gary Aldrich of the Carnegie Mellon University track and field teams has been named Assistant Throws Coach for the 2015 Pan American Games this summer. The track and field portion of the Pan American Games takes place July 20-26, in Toronto, Canada, at CIBC Pan/Parapan Am Athletics Stadium at York University.

    Senior Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team set a new school record in the 1,500-meter run on Monday, May 11 at Swarthmore College's Final Qualifier.

    The Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field team competed at the 10th Annual Gator Invitational host by Allegheny College on Friday, May 8. Junior Rekha Schnepf (McLean, Va./Thomas Jefferson HS for Sci & Tech) ran to a career-best in the 5,000-meter run for the women.

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team finished sixth at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Track and Field Championships which concluded Sunday, April 26 after two days of action at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team set two school records on the first day of competition of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, April 25 at Emory University. After seven scored events, the Tartans are fifth with 26 points.

  • Yee Sets School Record in Pole Vault

    Sophomore Grace Yee (San Francisco, Calif./Lick-Wilmerding) set the school record in the pole vault to lead the Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field team at the Dave Labor Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock University on Saturday, April 18. Fourteen teams from all three divisions competed at the event.

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed at both the Bucknell University Distance Carnival and the Westminster College Invitational on Saturday, April 11.
  • Women’s Track and Field Wins Annual Quad Meet

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team turned in seven first-place finishes at its annual Carnegie Mellon Quad on Saturday, April 4. The Tartans won the meet with 191 points while Westminster took second with 124 points.
  • Track and Field Mini-Invite Cancelled
    March 26, 2015
    The Carnegie Mellon University Outdoor Track and Field meet scheduled for Saturday, March 28 with Allegheny, Denison, Fredonia State and Waynesburg along with partial teams from Duquesne, Pitt and Saint Vincent has been cancelled due to inclement temperatures forecasted for the Pittsburgh area. The Tartans will next compete at the Carnegie Mellon Quad, Saturday, April 4 with field events beginning at 10:00 a.m.
