  • Guevel and Team Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team
    July 27, 2012
    The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the women’s 2012 Division III All-Academic Track & Field Teams and Carnegie Mellon University was included on the list. A total of 137 institutions earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.1 or better.

  • Q & A with Rising Senior Sarah Menio

    Rising senior Sarah Menio is a two sport athlete in women's swimming and diving and outdoor track and field and is a six-time letter winner for the Tartans. This past April, Menio placed fifth at the UAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a career-best distance of 34.02 meters in the discus. Menio is a chemistry major in the MS/ BS program with a minor in business administration. The MS/BS program allows her to graduate with both her masters and bachelors of chemistry in a little over four years. She is also a member of the Science and Humanities Scholars program which is an interdisciplinary program which allows students to explore majors in both H&SS and MCS.   • Aldrich Receives Mideast Regional Award

    Associate Head Coach Gary Aldrich of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams was honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association with outstanding regional recognition. The sixth-year coach was named Mideast Assistant Coach of the Year for the women.
  • Guevel Wins 100-Meter Hurdles at UAA Championships to Lead Tartans

    The Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field team hosted the final day of the 2012 University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships Sunday, April 29. The two-day event was held at Gesling Stadium. The Tartans ended the championships in fifth place scoring 62 points with Emory University winning the team title totaling 226.5 points.
  • Four Tartan Women Compete at Gator Invitational

    In the last meet of the season for the Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team, four athletes competed at the 6th Annual Gator Invitational hosted by Allegheny College.

    The Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field team hosted day one of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships Saturday, April 28 at Gesling Stadium. After Saturday’s events the Tartans are currently in fifth-place after six scored events with 12 points.

  • Guevel Garners Third UAA Athlete of the Week Honor

    Sophomore Jacqueline Guevel (Dallas, Texas/The Hockaday School) of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for the third time this season. Guevel helped lead the Tartans to a second-place finish at their annual quad meet on Saturday.

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team hosted its annual quad meet on Saturday, April 7 with Penn State Behrend, Washington & Jefferson College and Westminster College in attendance. The Tartans finished second with 171.5 points, 4.5 points off winning Westminster.

    Senior Ivana Moses (New Rochelle, N.Y./Phillips Exeter) and sophomore Jacqueline Guevel (Dallas, Texas/The Hockaday School) of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s track and field team were named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athletes of the Week. The Tartans competed at the VMI-W&L Track and Field Carnival hosted by Washington and Lee University last weekend.

    Sophomore Jacqueline Guevel (Dallas, Texas/The Hockaday School) of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s indoor track and field team has received an invitation to the NCAA Women’s Track and Field Championships to be held March 9-10 at Grinnell College in Waverly, Iowa. Guevel will compete in the 60-meter hurdles and make her second appearance at the championships.

Sophomore Samantha Oleson (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) earned All-UAA honors in the weight throw as twp runners made final heats in three events for Sunday.

    Sophomore Jacqueline Guevel (Dallas, Texas/The Hockaday School) of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s indoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week. Guevel set two school records on her way to two second-place finishes at the Bucknell Winter Classic at Bucknell University on Saturday, February 11.

  • Guevel Wins Two Events at Case Western Reserve in Dual Action
    February 04, 2012
    The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team fell to University Athletic Association foe Case Western Reserve, 95-32, in dual meet action Saturday, February 4 in Cleveland, Ohio. Their score combined with the men was not enough, giving Case Western Reserve the higher combined point total (153-101) and claim to the Obelisk Trophy in 2012.
  • Tartans Continue Season at GaREAT Open

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team traveled to Geneva, Ohio, for the Midwest Indoor Track and Field Open hosted at the Spire Institute. The meet consisted of teams from Division I, Division II and Division III.
  • Tartans Compete Against Top Competition at Edinboro

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed at Edinboro University on Saturday, January 21. Other teams competing consisted of host Edinboro, Robert Morris University, Penn State Behrend, Walsh University, Lock Haven University, Alfred College, Fredonia State University and Alderson-Broaddus College.

    Junior Emily Wobb (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine Richland) of the Carnegie Mellon University women’s indoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for her performance at Marietta College to open the indoor season on Saturday, January 14.
