(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Carnegie Mellon University freshman Hannah Rosenfield (Manchester, England/Windemere Preparatory School) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week on Monday, September 11. Rosenfield began her Tartan career against Grove City College before playing in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational.
For the week, Rosenfield went 5-1 with three singles victories against seniors from Division I Duquesne University during the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Her first two matches were won in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1 and 6-4, 7-5, while her third victory came by the line score of 6-4, 4-6, 10-7. She also won two doubles matches for the week with an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles against Grove City and an 8-5 win against Duquesne during the invitational.
The Tartans will be back in action on Saturday, September 16 at the Kenyon College Invitational and at home against Seton Hill University. The match with Seton Hill is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.
