Women's Tennis named ITA All-Academic Team; Three Named Scholar-Athletes

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team was honored for the fourth straight season and 11th time in the last 12 years by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).  The Tartans were named to the ITA All-Academic Team.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above.

In addition to the team honor, three individuals garnered ITA Scholar-Athlete status; Christina Brant (Canfield, Ohio), senior Katie Cecil (Huntington Beach, Calif./Ocean View) and junior Bryn Raschke (Del Mar, Calif./Torrey Pines).    

In order to be eligible to be a Scholar-Athlete, a player must be a varsity letter winner, have a GPA of at least 3.50 and been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
