  • Women’s Swimming Receives Team Scholar Award from CSCAA
    July 16, 2013
    The Carnegie Mellon University women’s swimming and diving team was honored by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with a Team Scholar All-America award as five individuals were also named. The 2013 CSCAA Scholar Al-America Team and Individual Scholar All-Americans are supported by Nike.

    Carnegie Mellon University senior Breanna Stillo (West Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell), a member of the women's swimming and diving team, was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team. CoSIDA recognizes outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments by honoring deserving athletes with All-Academic recognition with the official sponsor of Capital One.
  • Tartans Take Fourth Place at UAA Championships

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team finished competition at the University Athletic Association Championships with a fourth-place showing on Saturday, February 16. Multiple swimmers reached the championship finals of Saturday's event with at least one Tartan finishing in the top eight in each event.
  • Relay Championship Leads Tartans at Second Day of UAA Championships

    Day two of the University Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships was a success for the Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team as the 200-yard medley relay highlighted the day with a championship performance. The Tartans are currently fourth with 773.50 points as the meet is being hosted by the University of Chicago.

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team began competition at the University Athletic Association Championships on Thursday, February 14 breaking two school records while nine swimmers qualified for the finals sessions. The meet is being hosted by the University of Chicago and the Tartans are currently in fifth place after four events.

    In a tune-up for the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships starting on February 13, the Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team went to the University of Pittsburgh to face the Panthers along with Clarion University and Grove City College.

  • Tartans Win 11 Events in Double Dual Victories

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team defeated SUNY Geneseo and Westminster College on Saturday, January 19 in the seniors last home meet of the season. The Tartans won 11 events to defeat Geneseo 189-108 and Westminster 206-93.
  • Tartans Swim Up to the Challenge at Kenyon Total Performance Invitational

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team traveled to Kenyon College for the annual Total Performance Invitational with Kenyon, Grove City College, Davidson College, University of Findlay and the University of Pennsylvania. The team finished fourth with several NCAA provisional times being met.
  • Tartans Ranked Eighth in CSCAA Division III Rankings

    The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has announced its first Division III Swimming and Diving Team Rankings of the season and both Tartan squads sit eighth in the poll. The rankings are voted on by six CSCAA member coaches.
  • Tartan Women Sweep Home Quad Meet

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team won all three individual dual meets during its annual home quad meet with Allegheny College, University of Rochester and Washington & Lee University. The Tartans topped the Gators 168-84, the Yellowjackets 149-108 and the Generals 163-194.
  • Phan Earns UAA Honor

    Carnegie Mellon University junior Soleil Phan (Irvine, Calif./Beckman) was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Women’s Swimming Athlete of the Week for her performance over the weekend as the Tartans defeated Grove City College 178-119. Phan won three individual events and was part of a winning relay team.

    Junior Soleil Phan (Irvine, Calif./Beckman) won three events as the Carnegie Mellon University swimming and diving team defeated Grove City College 178-119. Besides Phan's three victories, the Tartans turned in six others.
  • Tartans Open Home Season Against Clarion

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving opened its home season with a dual meet against Division II Clarion University. The Tartans won two events and finished second in seven individual events falling in the meet by the score of 198-102.
  • Former Swimmer Sarah Lam (TPR '08) Making Her Mark
    October 31, 2012
    When Sarah Lam arrived at Carnegie Mellon as a first-year student, she was apprehensive about leaving home and beginning a new adventure in Pittsburgh. Those fears quickly flew by the wayside, as Lam was greeted at Donner House by members of the swimming and diving program. Her new teammates were there to help get her acclimated to college life.
  • Phan Leads Tartans who Win Four at UAA Invite

    The Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team opened the season with four wins, behind three individual victories by junior Soleil Phan (Irvine, Calif./Beckman) at the University Athletic Association Invite hosted by the University of Rochester. The Tartans finished ahead of Rochester as well as Brandeis University, Case Western Reserve University and New York University.

    Through six events at the University Athletic Association Invitational hosted by the University of Rochester, the Carnegie Mellon University women's swimming and diving team held the lead against all four opponents. Other teams in attendance were Brandeis University, Case Western Reserve University and New York University.
  • Ayres Excited to Join Tartan Family as Swimming & Diving Assistant

    Carnegie Mellon University head swimming and diving coach Matt Kinney has announced the hiring of Kellie Ayres as his new assistant for both the men’s and women’s programs. Ayres comes to Pittsburgh after serving in the same role at Dickinson College for the past two years.
