(COLUMBUS, Ohio) - Five different players scored goals for the 22nd-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer team when it faced Capital University on the road Friday, September 8. The Tartans improve to 3-0 while the Crusaders drop to 1-2.
Scoring for the Tartans opened in the second minute when senior defender Katie Strycharz (Potomac Falls, Va. / Dominion) put in her second career goal and first career game-winning goal off an assist from sophomore Ryan Casey (Pasadena, Calif. / Polytechnic). Casey's shot attempt was saved by Capital keeper, Kelly Bachman, but Strycharz was there to finish the rebound.

Both players put their first shot of the game on frame shortly after entering the match.
Freshman Carolyn Botz (St. Louis, Mo. / Micds) played all 90 minutes in goal for the third consecutive game, earning her second shutout after making one save.
