Kitahara Named UAA Women’s Golfer of the Week

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Junior Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Golf Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Generals Invitational hosted by Washington & Lee University October 2-3.  She helped the Tartans to a fourth-place showing in a field of 12 teams.  
    
Kitahara led the Tartans with a school record two-round score of 153 (75-78). The junior topped her previous two-round school record by five strokes and placed sixth individually in a field of 71 golfers. Kitahara also helped the Tartans set the school record for the lowest two-round team score recorded with a 643 (320-323).

Carnegie Mellon will finish its fall season at the NYU Invitational. The two-day tournament is being played at the Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, New Jersey, on October 15-16.
