  • Carnegie Mellon’s Aldrich Named to the USA Coaching Staff for 2019 NACAC U23 Championships
    April 22, 2019
    Gary Aldrich, head coach of the Carnegie Mellon University track and field teams, has been named to the U.S.A. coaching staff as the Throws Coach for the 2019 NACAC (North American, Central American, and Caribbean Athletic Association) Under 23 Championships this summer. The event will take place in Queretaro, Mexico, from July 5-7. This marks Aldrich's sixth coaching stint on the international stage.
  • Seven Tartans Place First at SRU Open

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team competed at the Slippery Rock University Open on Thursday. The men turned in seven first place finishes in the unscored event.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team competed at the Westminster College Invitational on Saturday. Many Tartans placed among the top five against a field of Division II and Division III competitors.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s track and field team competed in the Dave Labor Invitational hosted by Slippery Rock University on Saturday. The Tartans had many personal-best performances against the DII and DIII competition.

  • Miller Garners Second Straight UAA Athlete of the Week Honor

    For the second straight week, sophomore Bram Miller (Colgate, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s outdoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for field events. The honor comes following his performance at the Tartans annual Quad Meet Saturday afternoon.
  • Miller Breaks School Record in Discus Throw, Kalapos Breaks 3,000 Meter School Record

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team hosted its annual Carnegie Mellon Quad on Saturday. The Tartans won the quad with 215 points after turning in 11 first-place finishes. Penn State Behrend placed second with 158 points. The men swept four events and had numerous career-best performances.

  • Tartans Cruise to Win at Annual Invitational

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team hosted its annual Mini Invitational on Saturday, March 23. The Tartans won the event after scoring 312 points with John Carroll taking second with 103 points. The Tartans swept top three spots in two events throughout the meet.

    Sophomore Jack Murphy (Ithaca, N.Y. / Trumansburg) and freshman Graham Eversden (Chandler, Ariz. / Chandler) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s outdoor track and field team were named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week. Murphy claimed the field accolade while Eversden received the running honor following their performance at the Washington and Lee Track and Field Carnival over the weekend.
  • Tartans Open Outdoor Season at Washington and Lee Track and Field Carnival

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team traveled south to Lexington, Virginia for the Washington and Lee Track and Field Carnival hosted by Washington and Lee University at Foster Stadium on Friday and Saturday. The Tartans turned in four first-place showings and had multiple top-five performances in the first meet of the spring.

    Three Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field athletes competed at the final day of the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday. This year's championships are being held at the Reggie Lewis Center with the University of Massachusetts Boston and the City of Boston serving as hosts.
  • Mitchell and Yukevich Advance to Finals at NCAA Indoor Championships

    Senior Will Mitchell (Chatham, N.J. / Chatham) and junior Evan Yukevich (Tokyo, Japan / American School in Japan) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team advanced to the finals at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday in the 3,000 meters and mile, respectively. The two-day event is being held at the Reggie Lewis Center with the University of Massachusetts Boston and the City of Boston serving as hosts.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s and women’s track and field teams had 26 Mideast All-Region honors awarded to its athletes by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2019 indoor track and field season. There are 21 representing the men while five represent the women with five receiving multiple honors.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s track and field team swept the 2019 University Athletic Association (UAA) Indoor Track and Field postseason awards when they were announced Thursday. Sophomore Marvin Bennett Jr. (Baltimore, Md. / Phillips Exeter Academy) was named Most Outstanding Performer in the running events, classmate Bram Miller (Colgate, Wis. / Kettle Moraine Lutheran) was named Most Outstanding Performer in the field events, with freshman Justin Kiefel (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown STEM Academy) being named Rookie of the Year.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s track and field team won the University Athletic Association (UAA) Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Brandeis University Sunday, February 24. The men defeated second place Washington University for their third UAA Indoor crown, with several personal best and school-record performances.
  • Kalapos Wins 5,000-Meter in a UAA Record Time at First Day of UAA Championships

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s track and field team started off the weekend Saturday at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships hosted by Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. The men’s team is winning the meet with 61 points, sitting 30 points ahead of second place Washington University.
  • Men’s Track and Field Compete at Ohio State and Mount Union

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s track and field team competed at the Ohio State University Indoor Collegiate Meet on Friday, while a second squad of Tartans competed at the Mount Union Raider Tune-Up on Saturday. Many Tartans scored personal-best and season-best performances at both meets.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s track and field team won their third consecutive meet of the season when they topped the field of six at the Noke Elite Meet hosted by Roanoke College this Saturday, February 9. The Tartans defeated second place Washington and Lee and third place Roanoke. This year marked the team’s first appearance at the meet.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s track and field team won the Denison University Bob Shannon Invitational on Saturday, February 2 for the fourth consecutive season with 189.50 points. The men led the team scoring by 121 points over second place Denison.
  • Tartans Bring Home the Obelisk; Freshman Justin Kiefel Breaks Indoor School Record in the Triple Jump

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s track and field team defeated Case Western Reserve University in the Battle for the Obelisk with dual meet scoring of 88-48 points. With a combined total of 157 points the men and women brought home the obelisk for the third consecutive season.
