Mansfield Claims Second UAA Weekly Honor of the Season

(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – For the second time this season, senior Tommy Mansfield (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville Central) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's indoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for field events. The honor comes following his performance at the Tiffin University Dragon Grand Prix Invitational on Saturday, February 10.

Mansfield set a new school record in the pole vault clearing a height of 4.60 meters against a mix of Division II and Division III athletes to place fourth in the event. His mark topped the record he set of 4.58 meters that he cleared earlier this season at the SPIRE Carnegie Mellon University Invitational, the first meet of the season. His height is currently tops in the UAA and 24th in the nation.

The Tartans will compete again on Friday, February 16 at the Ohio State University Indoor Tune-Up Meet and Saturday, February 17 at the Raider Tune-Up hosted by the University of Mount Union.
