  • Men’s Track Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards
    July 27, 2018
    The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2018 Division III All-Academic Track & Field Teams and Carnegie Mellon University was included on each list for the 22nd consecutive year. A total of 106 men's teams and 185 women's teams earned the distinction as a result of a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better for the 2017-18 academic year.
  • Harter and Mills Named CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District

    Carnegie Mellon University juniors Andrew Harter (Saratoga, Calif.) and Isaac Mills (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) have been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Google Cloud Academic All-District Team for men’s cross country and track and field.
  • Outdoor Track and Field Garners 14 USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s and women’s track and field teams had 14 Mideast All-Region honors awarded to its athletes by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2018 outdoor track and field season. Nine represent the women while five represent the men with three receiving multiple honors.
  • Schofel Places 13th at NCAA Outdoor Championships

    Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field senior Jacob Schofel (Livingston, N.J. / Livingston) competed at the 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships Saturday afternoon. The three-day championships were hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

    Three Carnegie Mellon University men’s and women’s track and field athletes have qualified for the 2018 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships to be hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on May 24-26. Seniors Jacob Schofel (Livingston, N.J. / Livingston) and Sarah Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Hampton), along with sophomore Michelle Karabin (Ruffs Dale, Pa. / Greensburg Central Catholic) made the field and will represent the Tartans.

    With less than two days before the NCAA announces its competitors for the national meet, a handful of Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field athletes competed at the Great Lakes Final Qualifying Meet hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on Thursday.

    he Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team competed at the 13th Annual Gator Invitational host by Allegheny College on Friday. Senior Jacob Schofel (Livingston, N.J. / Livingston) recorded a career-best mark while junior Isaac Mills (Fairfax, Va. / Oakton) won the 800-meter run.

    Carnegie Mellon University senior Jacob Schofel (Livingston, N.J. / Livingston) and freshman Bram Miller (Colgate, Wis. / Kettle Moraine Lutheran) were honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) when the 2018 Outdoor Track and Field awards were announced Thursday. Schofel was named Most Outstanding Performer in the field events while Miller was named Rookie of the Year. The honors come after the Tartans placed second at the UAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Sunday, April 29.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team hosted the final day of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships on Sunday and finished second with 162 points. Washington University won the team title with 248 points.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team began the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships at home on Saturday. The Tartans earned 61 points after seven scored events and are currently in second behind Washington University who has 83 points.
  • Singh Runs Season-Best Time as Men’s Track and Field Compete at Slippery Rock Open

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team competed at the Slippery Rock University Open on Thursday, April 19. The Tartans claimed two top spots in the unscored event with freshman Andrew Singh (Marietta, Ga. / Walton) running a season-best time in the 5,000-meter run.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team sent nine athletes to the two-day Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Dauphin Sets School Record, Cory Wins 5,000m Run while Tartans Place Third at Westminster Invitational

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s track and field team finished third at the Westminster College Invitational on Saturday, April 14. The Tartans finished first amongst Division III teams while Youngstown State University and Slippery Rock University finished above the 101 points the Tartans earned for the day.

  • Harter and Schofel Break School Records; Men’s Track and Field Win Annual Quad Meet

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team hosted its annual Carnegie Mellon Quad on Saturday. The Tartans turned in 10 first-place finishes as the team to win the quad with 221 points. Penn State Behrend finished second with 177 points.

Junior Rose Ciriello (Madison, N.J./Madison) and sophomore Michelle Karabin (Ruffs Dale, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) from women's track and field and freshman Arthur Dzieniszewski (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) from men's track and field were the award winners.

  • Men’s Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season at W&L Carnival

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team traveled south to Lexington, Virginia for the Washington and Lee Track and Field Carnival hosted by Washington and Lee University at Foster Stadium on Friday and Saturday. The Tartans turned in five first-place showings and swept the top three spots in two events in the first meet of the spring.

    Carnegie Mellon University junior Isaac Mills (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) competed at the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, March 9 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama. Mills ran the 800-meter run after qualifying for the meet for the first time in his career.

    Junior Isaac Mills (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s indoor track and field team has received an invite to compete at the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. The meet will be held March 9-10 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama, with Birmingham Southern College and the Birmingham CrossPlex serving as hosts.

Schofel was named Most Outstanding Performer in the field events while Bennett Jr. was named Rookie of the Year. The honors come after the Tartans placed second at the UAA Indoor Track and Field Championship on Sunday, February 25.

The Tartans earned 106 points while Washington University took the crown with 120 points.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's track and field team currently sits third in the field following the first day of competition at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Indoor Championships on Saturday. The Tartans have 31 points and trail Case Western Reserve University by one-point and Washington University in St. Louis by 11 points. The 2018 championships are being held on the campus of Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio.

    For the second time this season, senior Tommy Mansfield (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville Central) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s indoor track and field team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for field events. The honor comes following his performance at the Tiffin University Dragon Grand Prix Invitational on Saturday, February 10.
