Charlie Ghriskey joins the Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis program as an assistant coach for his first season in 2018-19.
Ghriskey is a 2016 graduate of the College of Charleston where he played four years for the men's tennis team. While a Cougar, Ghriskey played in the 2016 NCAA Championships after winning the Colonial Athletic Association conference championship. He was a two-year captain, team MVP, and second team all-conference honoree.
Ghriskey has many years of experience teaching tennis as he was a tennis professional before enrolling in college. He was a tennis professional for five summers in Northeast Harbor, Maine, and Nantucket, Massachusetts and spent the last year working as a high performance junior tennis coach at the Saw Mill Club in Mt. Kisco, New York.
A career at BNY Mellon, brought Ghriskey to Pittsburgh where he's excited to work with the Tartans. At BNY Mellon, Ghriskey is a Senior Portfolio Analyst.
"The team and I are very excited to have Charlie join us this year," said head coach Mike Belmonte. "In his first few weeks, he's brought a new energy and perspective that is already making us better. With his tennis pedigree and desire to contribute, I know Charlie will become a tremendous asset over the course of this season and [hopefully] beyond."
