(CLAREMONT, Calif.) - The 12th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team fell to fourth-ranked Bowdoin College on Wednesday, March 14 in Claremont, California. The Tartans are now 8-5 on the season with one match left to play during their spring break trip.
Winning for the Tartans against Bowdoin was junior Chaz Downing (Newport Beach, Calif. / Corona Del Mar) at second singles, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3, and freshman Ray Boppana (Boxborough, Mass. / Acton Boxborough Regional) at third singles, 2-6, 6-3, 10-8.
The Tartans will finish the trip against their fourth straight top 10 opponent when they play fifth-ranked Wesleyan College on Friday, March 16 at 11:30 a.m. PT.
