  • ITA Honors Men’s Tennis as All-Academic Team; Nine Named Scholar Athletes

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team was honored for the eighth straight season and 15th time in the last 16 years by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as an ITA All-Academic Team. In addition, nine players were named ITA Scholar Athletes.
  • Levine Earns All-America Honors at NCAA Men’s Tennis Championships

    Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Daniel Levine (Highland Park, Ill./Boca Prep International School) competed in the opening day 2017 NCAA Men's Tennis Singles Championship at Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Thursday, May 25. His play on Thursday earned him All-America honors.
  • Girard, Rozenvasser Honored with ITA Atlantic South Awards

    Carnegie Mellon University head tennis coach Andrew Girard and freshman Michael Rozenvasser (Haworth, N.J./Northern Valley Regional) were recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) when the 2017 Division III regional awards were announced last week. Girard was named the Wilson/ITA Atlantic South Coach of the Year for the women while Rozenvasser earned ITA Rookie of the Year for the men.
  • Six Named to Men’s Tennis All-UAA Team

    Six Carnegie Mellon University men’s tennis players were named to the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) Men’s Tennis Team on Wednesday, May 17 following the 2016-17 season. This marks the first year the Association named an All-Tournament team and an All-UAA team.
  • Zheng One of Four to Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Honors

    Four Carnegie Mellon University athletes were recognized by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-District Men's and Women's At-Large Teams. Senior men's golfer George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) earns the award for the third time while senior men's tennis player Kenny Zheng (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central), senior women's tennis player Nicholle Torres (Weston, Fla./Great Neck South) and junior women's swimmer Kim Hochstedler (Mishawaka, Ind./Penn) receive the honor for the first time.
  • Three Individuals to Compete for NCAA Tennis Singles Championship

    Carnegie Mellon University will have three tennis players in the singles field at the 2017 NCAA Division III Singles and Doubles Tennis Championships after senior Nicholle Torres (Weston, Fla./Great Neck South) and junior Cori Sidell (Redwood Shores, Calif./Carlmont) were selected on the women’s side and sophomore Daniel Levine (Highland Park, Ill./Boca Prep International School) was selected on the men’s side. The NCAA Singles Championship will begin on May 25 at The Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team, ranked seventh in the nation, faced fifth-ranked University of Chicago in the third-place match at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Sunday, April 23. Carnegie Mellon dropped a 6-3 decision to the Maroons. The Tartans move to 16-9 on the year while the Maroons are now 17-4. The three-day event was held at the Sanlando Park Tennis Complex in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

    For the second straight season, the seventh-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team faced No. 2 Emory University in the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship semifinals on Saturday, April 22. The Tartans dropped a 6-3 decision to the Eagles and are now 16-8 while Emory moves to 16-4. The three-day event is being held at the Sanlando Park Tennis Complex in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
  • Strong Doubles Play Lifts #7 Men’s Tennis Over #12 Case Western Reserve in UAA Championship Opening Round

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team won its University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship quarterfinal match with an 8-1 decision over Case Western Reserve University on Friday, April 21. The Tartans, ranked seventh in the nation, are now 16-7 on the season while the 12th-ranked Spartans move to 19-5. It marks the 11th straight season that the Tartans advance to the semifinals of the championship tournament. The three-day event is being held at the Sanlando Park Tennis Complex in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

    The seventh-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team defeated previously unbeaten and 20th-ranked Johns Hopkins University, 5-4, on Sunday, April 9 at home. The Tartans improved to 15-7 on the year while the Blue Jays fell to 7-1.
  • Strong Singles Play Gives #7 Tartans Win Against #16 Mary Washington

    The seventh-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team hosted 16th-ranked University of Mary Washington on Saturday, April 8 and earned a 5-4 victory after strong singles play. The Tartans moved to 14-7 on the year while the Eagles dropped to 14-6.
  • #7 Tartans Win Twice Against Ranked Foes Saturday

    The seventh-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team traveled to Kenyon College to face 24th-ranked Kenyon and 26th-ranked Lewis & Clark College. The Tartans earned two victories, 5-4 versus Kenyon and 5-0 versus Lewis & Clark, to improve to 13-7 on the year.

    The seventh-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team closed out its spring break tour with a 5-2 win against Division I Lehigh University at Pomona-Pitzer on Wednesday, March 15. The Tartans move to 10-7 for the year while the Mountain Hawks drop to 2-9.

    The seventh-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team visited sixth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Sunday, March 12 in Claremont, California. The host Stags upended the Tartans, 7-2.

Carnegie Mellon moves to 6-6, as the Bear are now 3-2.

The three-day event is being held at the Cleveland Racquet Club in Cleveland, Ohio. Carnegie Mellon is now 6-5 while Emory moves to 4-2.

    The seventh-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team began the 2017 ITA National Men's Indoor Team Championship with a 5-4 victory against eighth-ranked Case Western Reserve University on Friday, February 24 at the Cleveland Racquet Club in Cleveland, Ohio. The Tartans turned in four singles wins to earn their sixth win of the season and advance to the semifinals of the tournament for the second consecutive year.

    The seventh-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men’s tennis team hosted John Carroll University for its first Division III match of the spring season after facing five opponents from Division I or II schools. The Tartans won the match 9-0 to move to 5-4 on the season.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team, ranked seventh in Division III, traveled north to Boardman, Ohio, to face Division I Youngstown State University at the Boardman Tennis Center on Saturday, February 18 and fell in a close match, 5-2. The match was the fifth straight for the Tartans against a Division I or II opponent.

  • Tartans Split with Division I and II Opponents

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s tennis team, ranked seventh in Division III, topped Division II Walsh University, 8-1, before falling to Division I Saint Francis University, 5-2, on Saturday, February 11. Both matches were played at The Club Sport and Life in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. The Tartans are now 4-3 on the season while the Cavaliers dropped just their second match of the year and are now 6-2 and the Red Flash advance to 4-2.
  • Men’s Tennis Battles Division I Saint Joseph’s

    The No. 7 Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team welcomed Division I foe Saint Joseph’s University to Pittsburgh on Saturday, February 4. The Tartans dropped a hard fought battle, 6-1, to the Hawks and are now 3-2 overall.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team, ranked seventh nationally, began the spring season with an indoor match against Division I Duquesne University on Friday, February 3. The Dukes defeated the Tartans, 5-2, to move Carnegie Mellon's record to 3-1.
  • Tennis Programs Give Back to University, Meet 100% Giving Challenge

    All members of the men’s and women’s tennis teams accepted the challenge given by the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) to contribute to their programs and the athletic department. The tennis teams became the first to achieve 100 percent giving this year, in the third year of the challenge.
  • Men’s Tennis Ranked No. 7 in Nation, Second in Atlantic South Region

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team received a national ranking of seventh when the first national Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings of the 2016-2017 season were announced. The Tartans are also ranked second in the Atlantic South Region.
