Men's Tennis named ITA All-Academic Team; Six Named Scholar-Athletes

(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) - The Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team was honored for the fourth straight season and 11th time in the last 12 years by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).  The Tartans were named to the ITA All-Academic Team.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above.

In addition to the team honor, six individuals garnered ITA Scholar-Athlete status; Duke Miller (Poway, Calif.), Jooho Yu (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North), Felix Hong (Millersville, Md./Severn), senior Julian Pearlman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon), junior Will Duncan (Newbury Park, Calif.) and sophomore Abmishek Alla (Hyderabad, India/IMG Pendleton School).

In order to be eligible to be a Scholar-Athlete, a player must be a varsity letter winner, have a GPA of at least 3.50 and been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
