  • Two Named Athlete of the Week by ECAC

    Two Carnegie Mellon University athletes were honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) when the organization announced its weekly award winners this week. From women's swimming and diving senior Kim Hochstedler (Mishawaka, Ind./Penn) and from men's swimming and diving junior diver Gabe Bamforth (Cambridge, Mass. / CRLS).
  • Bamforth Breaks Own School Record; Tartans Finish Fifth at UAA Championships

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s swimming and diving team finished fifth at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships hosted by Emory University from February 14-17. The Tartans finished the meet with 902.5 points while Emory was crowned team champions with 1,725 points.
  • Four Swim in Championship Finals on Second Day of UAA Championships

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s swimming and diving team had four swim in the championship finals on the second day of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships hosted by Emory University. The Tartans are currently in fifth place with final competition set for Saturday.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team opened the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships on Thursday with two school records and currently sit fifth in the team standings.
  • Tartans Prepare for UAAs at Western PA Invite

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team traveled across Forbes Avenue to the University of Pittsburgh for the Western Pennsylvania Invite on Saturday afternoon. The meet was in preparation for the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships to be held February 14-16 in Atlanta, Georgia.
  • Tartans to Offer Swim Lessons in April

    This spring the Carnegie Mellon University swimming and diving teams will be offering eight lesson dates for interested swimmers 3 years old and up. The lessons are taught by members of the swimming and diving teams. All ability levels are welcome to take lessons.
  • Chu Wins Breaststroke at Home Tri Meet with Denison and Johns Hopkins
    January 20, 2018
    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s swimming and diving team hosted Denison University and Johns Hopkins University in a tri-meet on Saturday, January 20 for its first competition since returning from the winter training trip in Miami, Florida. The Tartans fell to Denison, 215-83, and to Johns Hopkins, 188.50-105.50, while Denison topped Johns Hopkins, 192.50-87.50.
  • Swimming and Diving Meet at Westminster Cancelled

    The swimming and diving meet between the Carnegie Mellon University Tartans and the Westminster College Titans which was to be held at Westminster on Saturday, January 13 has been cancelled due to the inclement weather forecasted for Friday night and Saturday.
  • Bamforth Awarded Fourth UAA Diver of the Week Award

    Junior diver Gabe Bamforth (Cambridge, Mass./CRLS) was awarded his fourth University Athletic Association (UAA) Men’s Diving Athlete of the Week award for his showing at the Kenyon College Total Performance Invitational on November 30-December 2.
  • Swimmers, Divers Finish Competition at Kenyon

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team completed competition at the Total Performance Invitational at Kenyon College against Division I Ohio State University and Davidson College, Division II Ashland University, and fellow Division III members Grove City College and Susquehanna University. The Tartans placed second with 1,593 points while Kenyon won the meet with 2,797 points.
  • Tartans Continue Competition at Kenyon

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s swimming and diving team continued competition at the Total Performance Invitational hosted by Kenyon College on Friday, December 1. Numerous season-best times were achieved with freshman Max Gonzalez (Allison Park, Pa. / North Allegheny) recording an NCAA provisional qualifying time.

  • Bamforth Earns Third UAA Men's Diver of the Week Award

    Carnegie Mellon University junior Gabe Bamforth (Cambridge, Mass./CRLS) was awarded his third University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Diver of the Week award after posting two pool records and NCAA Regional qualifying scores at the Carnegie Mellon University Diving Invitational on Friday, November 17 and Saturday, November 18.
  • Bamforth Qualifies for NCAA Regionals with Scores at CMU Diving Invitational

    Carnegie Mellon University junior Gabe Bamforth (Cambridge, Mass. / CRLS) solidified his position to compete at the NCAA Division III Regional meet in March with his performance at the CMU Diving Invitational against Allegheny College and Rowan University on Friday and Saturday, November 17-18.

  • Gonzalez Wins Four Events as Tartans Sweep Double-Dual Meet

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team hosted its third straight meet on Saturday, November 11 when Grove City College and Washington and Lee University visited Pittsburgh. The Tartans won the double-dual meet with scores of 191-70 against Washington and Lee and 202-59 against Grove City.
  • Tartans Win Second Dual Meet, Top Clarion 218-83

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team hosted Division II Clarion University on Saturday, November 4 and won the dual meet 218-83 after winning 12 events and sweeping two.

    Carnegie Mellon University junior Gabe Bamforth (Cambridge, Mass./CRLS) was recongized by the University Athletic Association (UAA) as the Men's Diver of the Week after his season-opening performance for the men's swimming and diving team against Case Western Reserve University.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s swimming and diving team began the season at home against Case Western Reserve University on Saturday, October 28. The Tartans won the meet by a score of 194-89.
  • Oliver Named Full-Time Swimming and Diving Assistant Coach
    September 07, 2017
    Carnegie Mellon University men’s and women’s swimming and diving head coach Matt Kinney named Myles Oliver his new full-time assistant coach for the 2017-18 season. Oliver began his duties September 1 after joining the Tartan staff from Kings College in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.
