  • Men's Swimming Named CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team was honored by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with a Team Scholar All-America award as four individuals were also named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans.
  • Tartans Place 19th at NCAA Championships

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team finished the 2017 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in 19th place when the meet concluded Saturday, March 18. Sophomores Mitchell Riek (Sunland, Calif./Bishop Alemany) and Gabe Bamforth (Cambridge, Mass./CRLS) finished the meet as All-Americans for the second straight year.
  • Riek Swims to Another All-America Finish

    Sophomore Mitchell Riek (Sunland, Calif./Bishop Alemany) picked up another All-America finish at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships for the Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team on Friday, March 17. Riek swam in the 200-yard butterfly finals for the second straight year on Friday.

    Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Mitchell Riek (Sunland, Calif./Bishop Alemany) returned to the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships for the second year and once again turned in an All-America performance.

    Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Mitchell Riek (Sunland, Calif./Bishop Alemany) will once again compete at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. The 2017 championships will be hosted by the City of Shenandoah and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) in Shenandoah, Texas, on March 15-18.
  • Bamforth Competes at 2017 NCAA Region 4 Diving Championship

  • Jay Sets School Record as Tartans Finish Fifth at UAA Championships

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s swimming and diving team finished competition at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships on Saturday, February 11 at the University of Chicago. An eight-year-old school record was topped as the Tartans finished fifth for the meet while Emory University took home the team title.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s swimming and diving team is currently in fifth place after the first day of competition at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships hosted by the University of Chicago. Both the 200-yard freestyle relay and 400-yard medley relay set new school records.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team traveled to the University of Pittsburgh for the Western Pennsylvania Invite in a tune-up for the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships to be held February 8-11.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team went on the road to Denison University to compete against the Big Red on Saturday, January 21. Denison won the dual meet by a 159-130 score.
  • Three Receive ECAC Weekly Honor

    Three Carnegie Mellon University swimmers and divers received recognition from the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) as Corvias ECAC South Athletes of the Week on Tuesday, January 17. Senior Machika Kaku (Irvine, Calif./University) and freshman Emma Nicklas-Morris (Winston-Salem, N.C./RJ Reynolds) of the women’s team and sophomore Winston Chu (Warren, N.J./Saint Peter's Prep) of the men’s team were honored for their respective performances at their home tri-meet with Westminster College and SUNY Geneseo on Saturday, January 14.
  • Three Sweeps Lead Tartans Past Westminster and SUNY Geneseo

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team hosted Westminster College and SUNY Geneseo on Saturday, January 14 after returning from its annual training trip in Miami, Florida, earlier in the week. The Tartans topped Westminster, 213-77, and Geneseo, 157-140.
  • Bamforth, Kaku Receive UAA Diver of the Week Awards

    Carnegie Mellon University sophomore diver Gabe Bamforth (Cambridge, Mass./CRLS) and senior diver Machika Kaku (Irvine, Calif./University) were honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) as divers of the week following their respective record-breaking performances at the Total Performance Sports Camp Invitational hosted by Kenyon College on December 1 through December 3. The award is the third for Bamforth this year and second for Kaku.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team finished the Kenyon College Total Performance Sports Camp Invitational on Saturday. The Tartans finished fourth overall with 1,022 points and ahead of Division I Davidson College and Division III DePauw University. The University of Pennsylvania took the title with 2,572 points.

    Junior Matthew Chu (Warren, N.J./Saint Peter's Prep) broke his own school record in the 100-yard breaststroke Friday afternoon as the Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team took to the water for the second day of the Kenyon College Total Performance Sports Camp Invitational.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team competed at the opening night of the Kenyon College Total Performance Sports Camp Invitational on Thursday, December 1. After the first night of competition which consisted of three events, the Tartans are fourth out of six teams with 162 points with the University of Pennsylvania leading with 282 points.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team hosted Grove City College and Washington and Lee University on Saturday, November 12 for a double-dual meet. The Tartans won 12 events and topped the Wolverines, 208-83, and the Generals, 191-71.

  • Tartans Swim Past Allegheny and CWRU at Season Opening Meet

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team began the 2016-2017 season at a double dual meet with Allegheny College and Case Western Reserve University at Case Western Reserve on Saturday, October 29. The Tartans topped both schools, defeating Allegheny 238-60 and CWRU 231-69 behind 13 event victories.
