  • Men’s Swimming Honored by CSCAA for Academics

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team was honored by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with a Team Scholar All-America award as four individuals were also named.
  • Riek Closes NCAA Championships with Third All-America Honor

    Freshman Mitchell Riek (Sunland, Calif./Bishop Alemany) closed the 2016 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships with his third All-America honor on Saturday, March 19. Behind Riek's performances and freshman Gabriel Bamforth's (Cambridge, Mass./CRLS) diving, the Tartans finished 28th overall.

    Freshman Mitchell Riek (Sunland, Calif./Bishop Alemany) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team set a new school record at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday, March 18 in Greensboro, N.C. at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. Riek's record-breaking performance came in the 200-yard butterfly.

    Freshman Gabriel Bamforth (Cambridge, Mass. / CRLS) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team earned a place at the NCAA Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships with his finishes on the one-meter and three-meter diving boards at the NCAA Region 4 Championships held at SUNY Cortland on Friday, February 26 and Saturday, February 27.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team placed fifth at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Swimming and Diving Championships hosted by the University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y. Freshman Gabriel Bamforth (Cambridge, Mass./CRLS) was crowned a UAA Champion in 1-meter diving while head diving coach Alicia Gorman was named UAA Men's Diving Coach of the Year.

  • Swimming and Diving Meet Versus Denison Cancelled

    Saturday's men's and women's swimming & diving dual meet between Denison University and Carnegie Mellon University has been cancelled due to the recent snowfall that struck Western Pennsylvania overnight. The meet was scheduled to take place at Denison's Trumbull Aquatics Center at 1 p.m. The meet will not be rescheduled.

    Carnegie Mellon University freshman Gabriel Bamforth (Cambridge, Mass./CRLS), was honored for the third time this season by the University Athletic Association (UAA) as Men’s Diving Athlete of the Week after helping the Tartans remain undefeated in dual meet action. The Tartans defeated Westminster College, 161-136, and SUNY Geneseo, 170.50-128.50, at Westminster on Saturday, January 16.
  • Riek Wins Three as Tartans Earn Two More Dual Wins

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team competed in its first meet of the semester and defeated Westminster College, 161-136, and SUNY Geneseo, 170.50-128.50, at Westminster on Saturday, January 16. The Tartans improve to 9-0 in dual meets for the season.
  • Kaku and Bamforth Receive UAA and ECAC Recognition

    Carnegie Mellon University divers, junior Machika Kaku (Irvine, Calif./University) and freshman Gabriel Bamforth (Cambridge, Mass./CRLS), were honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) as divers of the week. Bamforth receives his second honor this season while Kaku is recognized for the first time.

The Tartans swam against Division I schools, Davidson College and University of Pennsylvania, and Division III schools, DePauw University, Kenyon, and Johns Hopkins University.

    Carnegie Mellon University divers, freshman Gabriel Bamforth (Cambridge, Mass./CRLS) and senior Winona Li (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton), were honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) as UAA Divers of the Week. Bamforth receives the honor for the first time in his career while Li is a repeat honoree from last week.
  • Tartans Sweep Dual Meets Again with Victories Against W&L and Allegheny

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s swimming and diving team hosted Washington and Lee University and Allegheny College on Saturday, November 14 at the CMU Invite. The Tartans improved to 7-0 in dual meets for the year with a 170-91 victory against Washington and Lee and a 206-53 victory against Allegheny.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team defeated Grove City College, 232-66, and the University of Rochester, 193-100, on Saturday, November 7 at a double-dual meet hosted by Grove City. The Tartans are now 5-0 in dual meets this season.
  • Tartans Top Three Others to Begin Season

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team topped Case Western Reserve University, Clarion University and Gannon University on Saturday, October 31 in its home quad meet to begin the season. The Tartans defeated Case Western 188-109, Clarion 216-83 and Gannon 229-68.
