  • Sica Appointed Assistant Swimming and Diving Coach

    Former Ithaca College and Harvard University assistant coach James Sica will join the Carnegie Mellon University Swimming and Diving staff this August. Sica will serve as an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s programs.

The Tartans had two individuals and one relay provisionally qualify for the NCAA Championships for the evening.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team competed at the University of Pittsburgh on Saturday, January 31 with Clarion University before they complete training for the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships in two weeks. The Tartans defeated Clarion 223-58 and fell to Pittsburgh 216-81.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team recently returned from its training trip in Miami, Florida, and took on Westminster College and SUNY Geneseo on Saturday, January 17. The Tartans won eight events and defeated Westminster 186-108 and Geneseo 193-107.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team finished fourth at the Total Performance Invitational hosted by Kenyon College. The meet concluded on Saturday with the Tartans accumulating 712.5 points.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team continued competition at the Total Performance Invitational at Kenyon College on Friday, December 5. The Tartans are in fifth place and had many season-best swims for the day, including a school record time in the 50-yard freestyle by freshman Kevin Steinhouse (St. Louis, Mo./John Burroughs School).

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team opened the Total Performance Invitational at Kenyon College with two events, the 1,650-yard freestyle and the 800-yard freestyle relay. The Tartans competed against DePauw University, Grove City College, Kenyon, and Johns Hopkins University from Division III institutions and Davidson College and University of Pennsylvania from Division I institutions.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s swimming and diving team is off to a great start for the 2014-2015 season. The team is currently 6-0 in dual meets this year and head into the Kenyon College Total Performance Invitational with a College Swimming Coaches Association of America ranking of 11.
  • Tartans Win Two at Home Tri Meet Over Allegheny and W&L

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team won all two individual dual meets during its home tri meet with Allegheny College and Washington & Lee University. The Tartans topped the Gators 230-54 and the Generals 213-75. The Tartans are now 6-0 in dual action.
  • Tartans Win Big in Double Dual with Grove City and Rochester

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team hosted Grove City College and the University of Rochester on Saturday, November 8 and recorded two wins to improve its dual meet record to 4-0. The Tartans won 12 individual events for the day and topped Grove City 232-62 and Rochester 214.5-73.5.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's swimming and diving team opened the season with a dual meet at Case Western Reserve University on Saturday, October 25. The Tartans defeated the Spartans by a score of 187-105, winning 11 events.
