  • Men's Soccer Impacts Local School by Teaching Soccer and Importance of Education

    This past spring, the Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team had the pleasure of partnering with Justin Forzano and Pittsburgh Soccer in the Community to launch yet another successful community service project. Throughout the semester the team worked closely with Arsenal Middle School, one of the many local public schools in the area, helping run their youth soccer team’s practices once or twice a week, over the course of roughly six weeks. Six or seven of the varsity players not only helped run the practices but also participated and challenged the Arsenal students with some solid competition.

    Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer junior Jack McCambridge (Bethlehem, Pa./Moravian Academy) was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Men’s Soccer Team for Division III. The announcement, which came out Tuesday, honors 33 men’s players from across the nation.

    Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer senior Jimmy Jameson (Fairfax, Va. / Oakton) and junior Zack Masciopinto (Arlington Heights, Ill. / Buffalo Grove) received regional accolades from the United Soccer Coaches on Wednesday, November 29. Jameson was also honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) on the newly formatted ECAC Division III Men’s Soccer Team.

    Three Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer players were named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District men’s soccer team, as announced by the association. The district team is voted on by sports information directors in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Four Tartans Earn All-UAA Recognition

    Four Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer players were honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) coaches on Thursday, November 9 for their play throughout the 2017 season in which the team finished 10-4-3 with a 2-3-2 showing in the league. Senior Jimmy Jameson (Fairfax, Va. / Oakton) and junior Zack Masciopinto (Arlington Heights, Ill. / Buffalo Grove) both were named to the All-Association First Team with juniors Greg Bellwoar (Devon, Pa. / St. Joe's Prep) and Philip Petrakian (Redwood City, Calif. / Sacred Heart Preparatory) named to the second team.
  • Spartans Rally to Down Tartans, 2-1

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team closed the regular season on the road at Case Western Reserve University Saturday evening. Despite scoring first for the 14th time this season, the Tartans fell 2-1 to the Spartans in University Athletic Association (UAA) action. The Tartans close at 10-4-3 and 2-3-2 while the Spartans finish the year at 7-9-2 and 3-4.
  • UAA Home Contest Ends in 1-1 Tie with Rochester
    October 29, 2017
    The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team recorded its second tie of a University Athletic Association (UAA) home weekend when it finished 110 minutes of action with a 1-1 score against the University of Rochester on Sunday, October 29. The Tartans are now 10-3-3 overall and 2-2-2 in the UAA while the Yellowjackets are 11-2-3 and 4-1-1.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team hosted Emory University on Friday, October 27 in University Athletic Association (UAA) action and closed the game with a 2-2 draw to move to 10-3-2 on the year and 2-2-1 in the UAA. The Eagles are now 11-4-1 and 3-1-1.

  • Wheaton’s OT Goal Gives Tartans 4-3 Win Against La Roche

    Junior Jamie Wheaton (Lexington, Mass. / Lexington) scored his third goal of the season 57 seconds into overtime to give the Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team at 4-3 victory against visiting La Roche College on Wednesday, October 18. The Tartans are now 10-3-1 for the season while La Roche moves to 7-8-1.
  • UAA Announces 30th Anniversary Men’s Soccer Team

    The University Athletic Association (UAA) announced its 30th Anniversary Men’s Soccer Team on Wednesday, October 18. Sixty student-athletes earned the honor with 11 representing Carnegie Mellon University.
  • Tartans Shut Out WashU on the Road, 2-0

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team closed a three-game road trip with a 2-0 victory at Washington University in St. Louis on Sunday, October 15. The win halted a two-game skid and moved the Tartans to 9-3-1 overall and 2-2 in the University Athletic Association.

The Maroons used three second half goals to pull away from the Tartans who are now 8-3-1 on the year and 1-2 in the University Athletic Association (UAA).

    The 11th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team dominated play on the road against 15th-ranked Brandeis University but couldn't find the back of the net for the first time this season in a 2-0 loss to the Judges. The Tartans are now 8-2-1 overall and 1-1 in University Athletic Association (UAA) play, while the Judges improve to 9-2 and 2-0.
