  • Three Tartans Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Men’s Soccer Team

    Three Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer players were named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District men’s soccer team, as announced by the association. The district team is voted on by sports information directors in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Four Tartans Earn All-UAA Recognition

    Four Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer players were honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) coaches on Thursday, November 9 for their play throughout the 2017 season in which the team finished 10-4-3 with a 2-3-2 showing in the league. Senior Jimmy Jameson (Fairfax, Va. / Oakton) and junior Zack Masciopinto (Arlington Heights, Ill. / Buffalo Grove) both were named to the All-Association First Team with juniors Greg Bellwoar (Devon, Pa. / St. Joe's Prep) and Philip Petrakian (Redwood City, Calif. / Sacred Heart Preparatory) named to the second team.
  • Spartans Rally to Down Tartans, 2-1

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team closed the regular season on the road at Case Western Reserve University Saturday evening. Despite scoring first for the 14th time this season, the Tartans fell 2-1 to the Spartans in University Athletic Association (UAA) action. The Tartans close at 10-4-3 and 2-3-2 while the Spartans finish the year at 7-9-2 and 3-4.
  • UAA Home Contest Ends in 1-1 Tie with Rochester

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team recorded its second tie of a University Athletic Association (UAA) home weekend when it finished 110 minutes of action with a 1-1 score against the University of Rochester on Sunday, October 29. The Tartans are now 10-3-3 overall and 2-2-2 in the UAA while the Yellowjackets are 11-2-3 and 4-1-1.
  • Tartans Tie Emory, 2-2

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team hosted Emory University on Friday, October 27 in University Athletic Association (UAA) action and closed the game with a 2-2 draw to move to 10-3-2 on the year and 2-2-1 in the UAA. The Eagles are now 11-4-1 and 3-1-1.
  • Jameson Named UAA Men’s Soccer Athlete of the Week

    Senior Jimmy Jameson (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team was honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) as Men's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week following his play in the Tartans 4-3 overtime win over La Roche College last week.
  • Wheaton’s OT Goal Gives Tartans 4-3 Win Against La Roche

    Junior Jamie Wheaton (Lexington, Mass. / Lexington) scored his third goal of the season 57 seconds into overtime to give the Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team at 4-3 victory against visiting La Roche College on Wednesday, October 18. The Tartans are now 10-3-1 for the season while La Roche moves to 7-8-1.
  • UAA Announces 30th Anniversary Men’s Soccer Team

    The University Athletic Association (UAA) announced its 30th Anniversary Men’s Soccer Team on Wednesday, October 18. Sixty student-athletes earned the honor with 11 representing Carnegie Mellon University.
  • Tartans Shut Out WashU on the Road, 2-0

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team closed a three-game road trip with a 2-0 victory at Washington University in St. Louis on Sunday, October 15. The win halted a two-game skid and moved the Tartans to 9-3-1 overall and 2-2 in the University Athletic Association.
  • Second Half Surge by #14 Chicago Subdues Tartans

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team traveled to Chicago, Illinois, for a Friday evening tilt with the 14th-ranked University of Chicago Maroons. The Maroons used three second half goals to pull away from the Tartans who are now 8-3-1 on the year and 1-2 in the University Athletic Association (UAA).
  • #11 Tartans Dominate Play but Come Up Empty at #15 Brandeis

    The 11th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team dominated play on the road against 15th-ranked Brandeis University but couldn't find the back of the net for the first time this season in a 2-0 loss to the Judges. The Tartans are now 8-2-1 overall and 1-1 in University Athletic Association (UAA) play, while the Judges improve to 9-2 and 2-0.

Volleyball sophomore Kayla Yew (San Francisco, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral), men's soccer junior Zack Masciopinto (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove), women's soccer freshman Carolyn Botz (St. Louis, Mo./Micds) and men's cross country junior Aadi Mhatre (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) were all honored.

    Junior Zack Masciopinto (Arlington Heights, Ill. / Buffalo Grove) scored twice and the 12th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team defeated visiting New York University on Saturday, September 30 to open University Athletic Association (UAA) competition. The Tartans advance to 7-1-1 for the year while the Violets move to 5-2-1.

    The 14th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team drew with fifth-ranked John Carroll University, 1-1, on Sunday, September 24 at home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Tartans are now 6-1-1 on the year, while the Blue Streaks sit at 7-0-1.
  • Wheaton Scores First Career Goal in 2-0 Win Against Grove City

    Junior Jamie Wheaton (Lexington, Mass. / Lexington) scored his first career goal, as the 14th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team defeated Grove City College, 2-0, at home Friday, September 22. The Tartans move their record to 6-1 with their sixth consecutive shutout, while the Wolverines drop to 4-2-2.
  • #21 Tartans Earn Fifth Straight Shutout, Top Allegheny 4-0

    The21st-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team earned its fifth straight shutout on Monday, September 18 when it defeated Allegheny College on the road, 4-0. The Tartans improve to 5-1 on the season while the Gators drop to 3-4.

    The 21st-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team struck early against visiting Westminster College and went on to a 4-0 victory on Friday, September 15. The Tartans move to 4-1 on the season while the Titans drop to 2-4-1.

    Carnegie Mellon University junior goalkeeper Alec Lam (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Men’s Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week on Monday, September 11. Lam helped lead the Tartans to a 2-0 week with an overall record of 3-1.
  • Lin's Goal Lifts #20 Tartans Past Pomona-Pitzer, 1-0

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team closed out its West Coast trip with a second 1-0 victory when it topped Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, 1-0, on Sunday, September 10. The 20th-ranked Tartans are now 3-1 on the season while the Sagehens drop to 1-2-1.

    In a battle of top 25 teams, the 20th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team outlasted seventh-ranked University of Redlands on the Bulldogs' home field, 1-0, Friday, September 8. The Tartans advance to 2-1 on the season while the Bulldogs fall to 1-3.

    The 20th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team forced overtime at 5th-ranked Kenyon College Friday, September 1 but were defeated by the Lords by a golden goal in the 107th minute in the season opener for both teams.
  • Men’s Soccer Earns Top 25 Preseason Ranking

    The Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team will start the 2017 campaign in the national rankings, as they appear 20th in the United Soccer Coaches (formerly the NSCAA) NCAA Division III Preseason Coaches Poll, released last week.
