  • Abdelmoty and Fatschel Awarded Prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

    Carnegie Mellon University football senior Samer Abdelmoty (McLean, Va./McLean) and men’s soccer senior Andreas Fatschel (Seven Fields, Pa./Seneca Valley) have been selected to receive an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship for excelling academically and athletically while showing leadership and commitment to the community. Abdelmoty and Fatschel are two of 29 male fall athletes to receive the award across all three NCAA divisions.

    Sophomore Zack Masciopinto (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) represents the Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team on the 2016 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer All-Great Lakes Region Team. The sophomore was selected to the third team.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team had two players selected to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Men’s Soccer Division III South All-Star Team as announced by the ECAC on Wednesday, November 30. Senior Andreas Fatschel (Seven Fields, Pa./Seneca Valley) and sophomore Zack Masciopinto (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) were two of 11 players honored in the South Region.

    Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer senior Andreas Fatschel (Seven Fields, Pa./Seneca Valley) headlines the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America Division III Men’s Soccer Team selected by College Sports Information Directors of America as the Academic All-America of the Year honoree. Fatschel is the second Tartan to receive CoSIDA Academic All-America of the Year for men’s soccer as Jonathan Hall was honored with the same distinction in 2008 and 2009.
  • Four Players Garner Men’s Soccer All-UAA Honors

    The 18th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team hosted 16th-ranked Calvin College in the second round of the 2016 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship on Saturday, November 12. One goal was the difference as Calvin earned a 1-0 victory to advance in the tournament while the Tartans finish the year with a 13-4-2 record.
  • No. 18 Tartans Win NCAA First Round Game Against Ohio Wesleyan

    The 18th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team defeated Ohio Wesleyan University, 2-1, in a first round game of the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship on Friday, November 11 played on its home field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The win improves the Tartans' record to 13-3-2 and gives the program its sixth NCAA first round victory.
  • Tartans Selected to Host NCAA Men's Soccer First and Second Rounds

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team received an at-large bid to the 2016 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship after finishing second in the University Athletic Association. The 21st-ranked Tartans have been selected to host the first and second rounds. The appearance in the NCAA tournament marks the 13th for the program and second straight under third-year head coach Brandon Bowman.

    The 21st-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team topped Case Western Reserve University, 2-0, on Saturday, November 5 behind two goals by sophomore Zack Masciopinto (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove). The Tartans close the regular season with an overall record of 12-3-2 and a University Athletic Association (UAA) mark of 3-2-2.

The Tartans are now 11-2-2 and 2-2-2 in the University Athletic Association (UAA) while the Maroons improve to 16-0-1 and 5-0-1.

    The 23rd-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team defeated University Athletic Association (UAA) rival Washington University in St. Louis, 3-0, on Friday, October 28 at home. The Tartans are now 11-2-2 overall and 2-1-2 in the UAA as the Bears fall to 9-4-1 and 1-3-1.

Senior Andreas Fatschel (Seven Fields, Pa./Seneca Valley) earned his second award while sophomores Zack Masciopinto (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) and Anthony Gulli (Warrenville, Ill./St. Joseph) receive the honor for the first time and are the only two sophomores on the district team.

The Wolverines won the match 2-1 with a late second half goal to move their record to 8-1 while the Tartans dropped to 6-1.
