  • Lockwood Named ECAC South All-Star

    Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer junior Tristan Lockwood (Fairport, N.Y./Victor) has been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Men’s Soccer Division III South All-Star Team as announced by the ECAC on Thursday, December 17. The teams are voted on by representatives from the region’s member institutions and Lockwood earned a spot on the first team.
  • Young Kang CIT’92 Makes Gift to Establish Matching Campaign For Men’s Soccer

    The Carnegie Mellon men’s soccer community received a grand challenge this week, as 1992 graduate Young Kang made a leadership gift to generate support for the program. Kang, who previously named a Tartan Award and contributed covered benches for the program, pledged $25,000 to establish the Young Kang Matching Campaign.
  • Webb Closes Career as NSCAA All-American

    Senior William Webb (Dallas, Texas/J.J. Pearce) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team closed his career as an NSCAA NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer All-American. Webb was selected to the second team after garnering his second career All-Great Lakes Region honor.
  • Fatschel Named CoSIDA Academic All-American

    Carnegie Mellon University junior Andreas Fatschel (Seven Fields, Pa./Seneca Valley) has been named to the 2015 Academic All-America Division III Men’s Soccer team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Fatshel becomes the 17th Carnegie Mellon men’s soccer player to receive the honor.
  • Tartans Suffer Heartbreaker in Double OT in First Round of NCAA Championship

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team played Gordon College in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship on Saturday, November 14 with the Fighting Scots defeating the Tartans 2-1 in double overtime. The Tartans close out the season with an 11-4-3 record.
  • Five Men’s Soccer Players Named to All-UAA Team

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team had five players named to the University Athletic Association (UAA) Men’s Soccer All-Association Team following its third-place finish and Association record of 3-2-2. Headlining the team for the second year is senior William Webb (Dallas, Texas/J.J. Pearce), who received first-team recognition for the second time.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team received an at-large bid to the 2015 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship after finishing third in the University Athletic Association. The appearance in the NCAA tournament marks the 12th for the program, after a one-year hiatus, and first under second-year head coach Brandon Bowman.

The Tartans close the regular season with an 11-3-3 overall mark and a third-place University Athletic Association (UAA) finish of 3-2-2.

    Freshmen Alec Lam (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) and Zack Masciopinto (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) of the Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team swept the University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week awards following the Tartans’ two UAA road victories over the weekend.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team traveled to University Athletic Association (UAA) opponent Washington University in St. Louis for a Friday night contest against the nationally ranked Bears. The Tartans (10-2-3, 2-1-2) used a big second half to come-from-behind and top the #11 Bears (10-3-3, 2-2-1), 3-1.

    For Army Major John Moran (CEE 1996), service to community and country was something ingrained in him during his time on the Pittsburgh campus of Carnegie Mellon University. As a student, the civil and environmental engineering major was a member of ROTC and a men’s soccer player who discovered his passion for impacting the lives of others while continuing his athletic dream of playing collegiate soccer.

    Senior William Webb’s (Dallas, Texas/J.J. Pearce) 12th goal of the season 4:40 into the first overtime lifted the Carnegie Mellon University men’s soccer team to a 3-2 victory over visiting Mount Aloysius College Wednesday, October 21. The win moves the Tartans record to 9-2-3 while the Mounties are now 10-5-1.

    The Carnegie Mellon University men's soccer team was looking for its fourth victory of the year but were stopped just short by the ninth-ranked Kenyon College Lords on Saturday, September 12 when the Lords rallied for a 4-3 victory on their home field. The Tartans are now 3-1 on the year while the Lords stay unblemished at 4-0.
