(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) – Junior Seth Henry (Fulton, Md./Reservoir) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week following his performance at the Louis Fleming Basinger Memorial Tournament hosted by Lycoming College. Henry helped the Tartans to a 1-1 mark on his way to being named to the all-tournament team.
Henry recorded back-to-back double-doubles giving him three this season and five for his career. He averaged 23.0 points and 10.5 rebounds while shooting 73.1% (19-of-26) from the floor. Of his 21 rebounds for the tournament, 12 came on the offensive end. In the Tartans' 80-68 win over King's College to open play, Henry recorded a career-high 32 points while converting 12-of-16 from the floor and hauled down 11 rebounds. He followed with a 14-point, 10-rebound effort in the Tartans setback to ninth-ranked Lycoming in the championship game, as he shot 70.0% (7-of-10) from the floor.
Henry and the Tartans will open UAA play on Saturday, January 6 when they travel to Cleveland, Ohio. Tip against the Spartans of Case Western Reserve University is at 4:00 p.m.
